In this episode, we interview Gary McMurtrie on his recently published paper in the Journal of Addiction Medicine about Racial Disparities in the Treatment of Opioid Addiction. Gary McMurtrie has been researching this subject for 18 months, gathering data from several sources to shed light on some of the issues we are still facing in medicine today to make this world more equitable. Gary graduated from Chatham University in 2020 with his B.A. in Psychology and is currently applying to medical school where he hopes to become a psychiatrist specializing in addiction medicine. NASA Dart Mission

In this episode: The NASA DART (Double Asteroid Redirection Test). This mission was designed and led by the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory. This was an experiment to determine if scientists could successfully redirect an asteroid that could potentially be on a trajectory for the earth and cause extinction. They chose an asteroid, dimorphous that was orbiting another asteroid "didymos", that is not on earth's trajectory and causes no imminent danger to humans to test if redirection of an asteroid was possible by crashing a satellite into it.
