Why You Still Don’t Feel Confident (Even With Experience) | Leadership Mindset & Self-Trust

There’s something I’ve been thinking about since my last leadership immersion in March this year. The room was filled with women leading at different levels. Business owners, senior leaders, General Managers. On paper, these are women who know what they’re doing. And they do. What stood out to me wasn’t capability. It was how much people were still holding. You can see it quickly when you know what to look for. How someone enters a room. How long they wait before speaking. The way they position a question. How much they explain before they get to their point. These are subtle things, but they change how someone is experienced as a leader. The women stopped managing how they were being perceived as the day went on. The conversations became more honest, the questions more direct and you could feel the difference in the room. Their presence changed. This is the part of leadership that isn’t always spoken about. You can build experience, achieve results and still feel that internal hesitation in certain moments. It shows up in how you speak, how you make decisions and how much of yourself you allow to be seen. In this episode of The Danni Vee Show, I talk through what I observed in that room, how this connects to nervous system regulation and why confidence is often less about learning more and more about how safe it feels to show up fully at that level. In this episode, I explore: • What I notice in a room when I’m working with experienced leaders• How hesitation shows up in real time, even when someone is capable• The role of nervous system regulation in leadership presence• Why confidence can feel inconsistent as you step into higher levels• How the EMBODY framework supports alignment in how you lead Your takeaway:Pay attention to where you still find yourself holding back, even in small ways. That’s often where your next level is asking more of you. If you’re ready to strengthen how you show up in leadership and build trust in your own decisions, this is the work I do. From Self-Neglect to Self-Compassion: The Psychology High-Functioning Women Need to Hear with Dr Hayley Quinn

In this episode of The Danni Vee Show, I’m joined by former clinical psychologist, speaker and author Dr Hayley D Quinn for a deeply honest and grounding conversation about self-neglect, burnout and what it really takes to build a compassionate relationship with yourself. This is a conversation so many high-functioning women, leaders and business owners need to hear. Because on the outside, it can look like you’re holding it all together. You’re showing up, leading, achieving and being there for everyone else. But underneath that, there can be a quiet pattern of self-neglect that often goes unnoticed for years. Hayley shares her personal journey, her professional insights, and the powerful work behind her book From Self-Neglect to Self-Compassion, helping you understand that compassion is not something you either have or don’t have. It is a skill. And it is one that can completely change how you lead, live, and relate to yourself. We explore how women have been conditioned to prioritise others, how this shows up in leadership and business and why many women avoid themselves without even realising it. This episode is not about adding more to your to-do list. It is about coming back to yourself. ✨ What self-neglect actually looks like in everyday life✨ Why high-functioning women often don’t recognise their own burnout ✨ The difference between self-compassion and self-indulgence✨ Why compassion is a skill and an ongoing practice, not a one-time shift ✨ How women are conditioned to prioritise others from a young age✨ The hidden reason women say “I don’t have time for myself”✨ How avoiding yourself creates a different kind of pain✨ The three flows of compassion and why receiving it can be the hardest✨ How self-compassion changes your leadership, communication, and decision-making✨ Why understanding yourself is the foundation for sustainable success✨ A simple daily practice to start reconnecting with yourself Start with one simple question. “How am I, really?” Not once a month. Not when things fall apart......Today. The relationship you have with yourself is shaping every decision you make, every boundary you set, and every result you create. aflevering The Hidden Cost of Overthinking in Leadership and Business artwork

The Hidden Cost of Overthinking in Leadership and Business

Overthinking is often praised as a strength in leadership. It looks like responsibility. Care. Strategic thinking. But over time, overthinking becomes expensive. In this episode of The Danni Vee Show, I explore why many capable leaders and business owners find themselves stuck in cycles of analysis and hesitation, even when they already know the next step. Overthinking rarely comes from a lack of intelligence or capability. More often, it comes from the pressure of leadership itself. When the stakes increase, the brain naturally shifts into risk detection, which can lead to second-guessing decisions, replaying conversations, and delaying action. I also share moments from my own business where I caught myself overthinking decisions that ultimately required expansion rather than more analysis. This episode explores the leadership cost of overthinking, how nervous system regulation impacts decision-making, and how my EMBODY framework supports leaders in building the internal capacity required for sustainable growth. In this episode, I explore: • Why overthinking is common among high-performing leaders • The neuroscience behind hesitation and risk detection • How overthinking slowly erodes self-trust in leadership • Why capable business owners often delay decisions they already know are right • How leadership expansion can trigger internal resistance • How the EMBODY framework supports clearer decision-making Reflection for you:Where might overthinking be slowing your leadership down? Are you seeking certainty before making decisions that actually require courage? What decision have you already thought about enough? If this episode resonated and you want to strengthen your leadership identity, build internal capacity, and lead your business or team with greater clarity, this is the work I do. How Identity Builds Leadership, Not Strategy; With Krystal Wilson of She Who Dares

In this episode of The Danni Vee Show, I’m joined by mindset mentor, transformative coach and founder of She Who Dares, Krystal Wilson, for a deep, honest and completely unfiltered conversation about identity, self-leadership and what it truly takes to lead your inner world so you can grow your outer world. Krystal and I unpack the invisible work that precedes visible results. Why your belief in yourself determines how far you can go and how the path to impact isn’t a straight line but a series of identity shifts, ownership moments and decisions that expose what you really think is possible. Throughout our conversation, she shares why so many of us wait for confidence to arrive before we take action, and the paradox she’s learned through years of coaching hundreds of women: confidence shows up after we choose ourselves. We explore how your past patterns, both your rewiring and your wounds, become the silent drivers of your leadership, and how embracing responsibility for every part of your story is the catalyst for lasting transformation. If you’re ready to step into who you actually need to be before you wait to feel ready, this episode will meet you where you are and stretch you into who you’re becoming. What We Cover:• Why identity precedes strategy and how your inner world writes the blueprint for your outer results • The subtle decision that builds self-belief (before confidence arrives) • How Krystal describes the real work behind leadership and why your failures matter more than your successes • What it means to lead yourself first and why radical responsibility is the linchpin for sustainable growth • Why waiting to “feel ready” isn’t just a delay, it’s a belief that limits what you think you deserve Explore her work and resources:• Website: https://shewhodaresofficial.com/• Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/shewhodaresofficial/ [https://www.instagram.com/shewhodaresofficial/]• Podcast: She Who Dares (where she unpacks alignment, mindset and embodied identity work) • Website: https://www.dannivee.com/ [https://www.dannivee.com/?utm_source=chatgpt.com]• Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/danniveecoach/• LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/danni-vee/• Email: danni@dannivee.com If this episode spoke to you and you’re ready to go deeper into self-leadership, identity and impact, here are ways to work with me: • Executive & Leadership Coaching — for high-performing leaders ready to deepen presence, influence and confidence • The EMBODY™ Mastermind — for elite women ready to grow influence, impact and income from the inside out • ElevateHER Membership — self-leadership, identity work and foundational internal shifts that fuel sustainable growth ⭐ Please subscribe and leave a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ rating on Apple Podcasts or Spotify it means more women will discover this conversation and be supported in their leadership evolution. Why High-Performing Leaders Feel Stuck: Identity, Income Ceilings & Leadership Mindset

High-performing leaders often feel stuck in business even when they are capable, experienced and successful. In this episode, I unpack leadership mindset, income ceilings and the identity shifts required for sustainable business growth. There's a frustration I see again and again with leaders who are clearly capable, skilled, and experienced, yet something feels stuck. You’ve built capability. You’re respected. You’re trusted to lead. The business is moving forward. And still, you feel caught in the same patterns. I share my own income ceiling story and how I lived at the same level for years, believing the limit was external, only to realise I was the main thing in my own way. This episode is for leaders and business owners who know they’re capable of more, but something inside keeps circling rather than expanding. Understanding where capability and identity misalign is where real growth begins. In this episode, I explore: • Why high-performing leaders can still feel stuck • The difference between capability and internal self-concept • How nervous system regulation can unconsciously maintain old limits • My own experience of hitting an income ceiling and what shifted • The invisible identity barriers that influence decisions, pricing, visibility and leadership presence • Why growth isn’t about doing more, it’s about becoming different Reflection for you: Where have you outgrown your internal self-concept but haven’t consciously updated it? What patterns show up when you’re about to step into something bigger? Are you checking for certainty before you act? If you felt steady, what would you do next differently? You don’t need perfect answers. Just honest awareness.
