Over The Female Effect
My name is Julie Lou, and I find it absolutely magical when women support and uplift each other as allies. This is the magic I refer to with the title of my podcast, "The Female Effect." Every other Thursday, I invite a woman into the studio who, in her own way, is making a difference for other women and using her voice and talents to make a positive impact on the world. I hope you feel inspired, because we're rooting for you! With love, Julie Lou Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Why We Need To Stop Seeing Other Women As Competition (SOLO #5)
In this solo episode, I open up about one of the biggest transitions in my life—becoming a mom—and how it reconnected me to the heart of The Female Effect. Born from a deep belief that women rise through connection, not competition, this platform is a call to unlearn the scarcity we’ve been taught and start showing up for each other. I share personal moments of feeling excluded by other women and ask the hard questions about why that still happens. If you’ve ever felt the need to shrink or compete, this one’s for you. There’s room for all of us to rise—and we’re not meant to do it alone. I hope you’re feeling inspired, cause we’re rooting for you! love Julie —- I would like to “pass on the goodwill” Aram Ostadian-Binai, the founder of the soulfuls, a platform that champions women through mentorship and community. The Psychology of Your 20s as a Woman & Speaking Other Womens Praises in Crowded Rooms, with Jemma Sbeg
Founder and host of the chart-topping podcast “The Psychology of your 20’s”, Jemma Sbeg has created a global space for young adults to reflect, feel, and grow. With over 50 million listens, her platform speaks to the emotional weight of navigating your twenties in a world that demands constant evolution. What began as a solo project has grown into a movement offering space for honest reflection on anxiety, identity, comparison, and the quiet chaos of becoming. Early in her life, Jemma received encouragement from her Year 11 health teacher, Sue — someone who made her feel seen, capable, and heard. That support planted a seed of confidence that has stayed with her, empowering her to use her voice and build a platform that now reaches millions. In this conversation, Jemma explores the emotional landscape of being in your 20’s — unpacking mental health, the pressure to "have it all," social media, gender dynamics, feminism, and what it means to redefine success. Jemma also talks about choosing to manage her company by designing a workplace that honors women’s needs, offering flexibility around menstrual cycles and unique leave options such as period leave and self-discovery leave. With her debut book Person in Progress, Jemma also invites us to reclaim rest, rethink ambition, and navigate this chapter of life with curiosity, compassion, and care. I hope you’re feeling inspired, cause we’re rooting for you! Love, Julie My name is Julie Lou, and I find it absolutely magical when women support and uplift each other as allies. MØ on Coming Back to Yourself, Aging Proudly and Artistic Integrity in 2025
Karen Marie Aagaard Ørsted, better known as MØ, has spent over a decade in the global music industry navigating an ever changing environment while staying true to herself in a world that often demands constant reinvention. As a Danish singer and songwriter, she’s earned international acclaim not only through her solo work but also through hit collaborations that have introduced her distinctive voice to millions worldwide. Her fourth studio album, Plæygirl, is less about proving herself and more a celebration of fun, creative freedom, and emotional honesty. She opens up about the internalized need to always do more, fueled by a deep sense of gratitude for her success — touching on the toll of burnout, people-pleasing, and the quiet weight of Janteloven, the Danish cultural code that discourages standing out. Now in her mid-30s, MØ fully embraces her power, sets clear boundaries, and leads with the mantra: “I am in charge.” She shows up on her own terms — staying authentic and leading with integrity, rather than reshaping herself to meet expectations. Learning to say “no” has been a transformative part of her journey. I hope you’re feeling inspired, cause we’re rooting for you! Society Treats Symptoms, Not the Root Cause — Why Prevention & Awareness Matter More Than Ever in Women's Health, with Bianca Brangstrup
In a world that often treats symptoms instead of addressing the root cause, Bianca Brangstrup is offering a holistic approach to health—focused on prevention, balance, and long-term wellbeing. Bianca is a functional medicine practitioner, trained psychotherapist, and CEO of Vitaviva, a premium supplement brand founded by her mother in 1999 to support cancer patients’ immune health. She is also a co-owner of Vippa House, a holistic wellness space offering personalized care and integrative health practices. At Vippa, health is not just treated but elevated through a deeply personalized, preventive approach. Raised in a health-conscious family where alternative remedies, clean nutrition, and longevity were essential, Bianca’s approach blends modern science with holistic practices. Bianca believes true health starts with awareness—slowing down, listening to the body, and making conscious choices. Passionate about gut health and the vital role of vitamin D, Bianca emphasizes nutrient synergy, stressing that supplements should support, never replace, a balanced diet and that proper absorption is key to their effectiveness. Bianca shares a philosophy centered on treating root causes rather than symptoms, empowering people to reclaim their wellbeing through simplified, mindful living—tuning in to what truly sustains us rather than doing more. As she puts it: “We all want to get old—but in what way?” I hope you’re feeling inspired, cause we’re rooting for you! xx Julie —- Bianca would like to “pass on the goodwill” @melrobbins [https://www.instagram.com/melrobbins/] American author and host of @themelrobbinspodcast [https://www.instagram.com/themelrobbinspodcast/]. It Takes a Vgina To Know a Vgina - Women's Intimate Health LIVE Podcast: Deodoc x The Female Effect
“It takes a vagina to know a vagina.” Dr. Hedieh Asadi’s words were met with cheers—an instant, collective yes from the room. And that’s exactly the energy behind DeoDoc. Together with Redgert Comms, we hosted a LIVE podcast event with the incredible team behind DeoDoc — a Swedish intimate skincare brand founded by Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Gunvor Ekman-Ordeberg and sisters Dr. Hedieh Asadi and Hasti Asadi. Seeing a major gap in the market, they created the world’s first intimate care brand founded by women doctors 11 years ago — offering safe, science-backed products designed specifically for vulvar care, an area too often neglected, misunderstood, or surrounded by shame. Tired of misinformation and poor-quality products, they set out to change the narrative with medically developed, pH-balanced solutions made for women, by women doctors. They spoke candidly about pH balance, ingredient transparency, and why most intimate products still don’t serve women. They also expose the truths about tampons, including the widespread use of plastic and the lack of ingredient transparency in many major brands. For them, transparency in women’s health isn’t optional, but essential. But this conversation wasn’t just about products—it was about power. About shifting the narrative, replacing shame with science, and giving women the tools they need to take charge of their health. It was education. It was empowerment. Because women deserve better. And it takes one to know one. xx Julie —- Dr. Hedieh Asadi would like to “pass on the goodwill” to Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Gunvor Ekman-Ordeberg Keep up with DeoDoc: Instagram: @deodocwellness Website: deodoc.com Keep up with The Female Effect: 📸 Instagram: @thefemaleeffect_ 🚀 TikTok: @thefemaleeffect 🌍 Linkedin: @The Female Effect Artwork: Birgit Käsper Jingle: Søren Haahr Showroom Studio: Redgert Comms Copenhagen My name is Julie Lou, and I find it absolutely magical when women support and uplift each other as allies.
