In this short podcast Forward Leeds Group Worker Matt Whitton takes you through the five senses exercise. The aim of the exercise is to bring you back to the present moment, increasing mindfulness and making you more aware of your surroundings. This exercise helps with anxiety by grounding you. You just need a quiet space for this and to zone it to your five senses.

Leaves On a Stream Mindfulness Practice

Try following along with another one of our mindfulness practices led by Forward Leeds Group Worker Matt Whitton. It is recommended to close your eyes and follow along with this one. The aim is to control what you take notice of, draw your attention to your breathing, your hearing and your thoughts. Picture your thoughts written on a leaf, don't try to control what thoughts come in and out of your mind.
