Over The Growth Lounge

What if the life you built looks fine on the outside… but doesn’t feel aligned on the inside? The Growth Lounge is where women who are ready for more come to tell the truth. About their faith. Their marriage. Their health. Their identity. The quiet ache of knowing they’ve outgrown old patterns but aren’t sure how to move forward. Hosted by Jessica Phillips, 180 Legacy Coach and speaker, this podcast explores what it really takes to break generational cycles, reconnect with God, and create lasting change from the inside out. Through honest conversations and practical insight, you’ll learn how to stop managing symptoms and start healing at the root. If you’re done circling the same mountain and ready to rise rooted, clear, and confident in who you were created to be, you’re in the right place.

Who do you believe you are? ...And why it matters.

In this episode, I'm asking you a question I want you to sit with: Who you are? Because that story might be the most powerful thing running your results right now, more than any diet or plan ever could. I'm breaking down why your brain isn't actually trying to help you reach your goals, it's trying to keep you consistent with the identity you've built your life around. And if that identity says you're someone who always starts over, your brain will go to work proving you right. We talk about where these beliefs came from, why self-sabotage is often protection rather than weakness, and how you actually change an identity that's been operating in the background for years. Spoiler: it's not affirmations you don't believe. It's small acts of integrity with the woman you're becoming. You are not stuck with the story you inherited. The Real Reason You Emotionally Eat (And Why Willpower Was Never the Answer)

What if your emotional eating isn't a problem to fix, but a message to understand? In this episode, I get honest about something the wellness world never wants to admit: emotional eating works. That's why you haven't stopped. And that's exactly why shame, willpower, and "just be more disciplined" have never been able to touch it for long. This one is for the woman who has tried everything, knows better, and still finds herself in the kitchen at 10pm reaching for something she said she wouldn't. You are not broken. You are under-regulated and under-resourced. And that's something we can actually work with. The Craving Beneath the Craving: Why Weight Loss Is Not Just About Food

This is not another weight loss episode telling you to try harder, eat cleaner, or start over Monday. Because maybe the reason you keep reaching for the food is not because you are undisciplined. Maybe food has become the place you go when something inside of you feels overwhelmed, unseen, pressured, or unsafe. In this episode of The Growth Lounge, I am sharing a raw piece of my own weight loss journey and the deeper healing I am walking through in real time. Not from the finish line. From the messy middle. We are talking about the craving beneath the craving. The behavior beneath the pattern. The part of you that is not asking for more food, but for comfort, safety, expression, or freedom. This episode is for the high-capacity woman who knows what to do, but keeps finding herself stuck in the same cycle. Not because she is lazy. Not because she is broken. But because the root has not been healed yet. Inside this episode, I talk about: Why weight loss is not just about food Why healthy swaps do not heal the craving How food can become a coping mechanism What your cravings may actually be trying to tell you Why healing at the root creates lasting freedom If you are tired of managing the symptom and ready to understand the thing beneath the thing, this episode will speak to you. And as always, I am cheering for you. Let's keep the conversation going. The Lie You Built Your Life On

Who told you that you weren’t good enough? Who told you that you were bad, too much, not enough, too far gone, or incapable of becoming who God created you to be? In this episode of The Growth Lounge, I’m unpacking the quiet agreements many of us make with lies spoken over us, experiences that shaped us, and shame that was never meant to name us. I’m sharing a deeply personal reflection from a moment in my own life when I was packing to go to rehab, feeling helpless and unsure of what came next. That moment did not come out of nowhere. Addiction did not come out of nowhere. The patterns we live in do not come out of nowhere. There is always a thing behind the thing. Together, we’ll explore how the way we relate to ourselves directly impacts our circumstances, relationships, healing, and legacy. This episode is an invitation to stop letting shame, fear, old wounds, or learned behaviors define you, and to begin rebuilding your life on who God says you are. In this episode, we talk about: The “who told you?” question and why it matters How old agreements become patterns, behaviors, and circumstances The difference between dealing with symptoms and healing at the root Why learned behaviors are not your identity How shame leads us to hide, but God invites us into truth What it means to rebuild your life on God’s voice instead of old wounds Reflection question: What agreement have you been living under because believing it once felt safe? Call to action: If this episode spoke to you, take a screenshot, share it to your stories, and tag me. And if you’re ready to stop circling the same mountain and start healing at the root, send me a message with the word ROOT. Keeping the Peace Is Costing You More Than You Think

In this episode of The Growth Lounge, I’m digging into something I believe so many women are feeling but not always saying out loud: You are not actually afraid of change. You are afraid of what that change might disrupt. Maybe it looks like hesitation.Maybe it sounds like “I just need more clarity,” “I’m going to pray about it,” or “I’ll start when things settle down.”But underneath that is often a deeper fear: What happens if I really change? What happens to my marriage, my family, my relationships, or the role I’ve always played? In this conversation, I unpack how so many of us learned early on that keeping the peace felt safer than being fully expressed. That pattern can follow us into adulthood as shrinking, over-giving, over-explaining, and staying small enough not to rock the boat. But familiar does not always mean aligned. And peace does not come from keeping everything the same.Real peace comes from being honest about what is true. I also share pieces of my own story, what this looked like in my marriage, and why I believe growth does not always mean something is falling apart. Sometimes it means your life and relationships are being invited into a new level. That can feel tender, stretched, and messy, but that does not mean you are doing it wrong. We talk about: * Why the fear of change is often really a fear of losing connection. * How peacekeeping becomes a survival pattern. * What the messy middle actually looks like in real life. * Why familiar is not always the same as healthy or aligned. * How faith anchors us when growth feels disruptive. * Why “I’m going to pray about it” can sometimes be fear dressed up as faith. * How root-level healing helps you understand where these patterns came from so you can finally change in a grounded, sustainable way. This episode is an invitation to get radically honest with yourself.Where have you been shrinking to keep the peace? And is that actually creating peace… or just preventing growth? You are not selfish for growing. You are not wrong for wanting more. And you do not have to quit in the middle. If this episode speaks to you, send me a message, comment ROOT, or connect with me. I’d love to talk with you about what it could look like to heal this at the root and step into the next version of who you were created to be.
