Love People

1 John 2:15-17 NKJV "Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever." John 15:16C-19 NLT "I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using My name. This is My command: Love each other. If the world hates you, remember that it hated Me first. The world would love you as one of its own if you belonged to it, but you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you." Matthew 22:37C-39 NIV84 "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself." Acts 2:47C NIV The Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. Proverbs 16:9 ESV The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps. Mark 16:15 ESV "Go into all the world and proclaim the Gospel to the whole creation." John 8:12 NIV84 "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. " In Matthew 22:36C-39 NKJV "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?" Jesus said to him, "you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself." Luke Chapter 22:52 NKJV "Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done. " John 3:16 NIV84 "For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." Romans Chapter 5:8 NIV84 God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 1 John 3:16A NIV84 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down His life for us. Ephesians 3:18-19 NLT And may you have the power to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. John 13:34 NIV84 "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another." John 14:15 NIV "If you love me, keep my commands." 1 Corinthians 13:1-8A NIV84 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. Galatians 6:9-10 NIV Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. Matthew 25:34-45 NIV Then the King will say to those on his right, Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me. Then the righteous will answer him, Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you? The King will reply, Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me. Then he will say to those on his left, Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me. They also will answer, Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you? He will reply, Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.

Love God

1 John 2:15-17 (NKJV) “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.” People have a problem loving God because they are buried alive by the love of the world. Genesis 3:1-7 (NLT) The serpent was the shrewdest of all the wild animals the Lord has made. One day he asked the woman, “Did God really say you must not eat the fruit from any of the trees in the garden?” “Of course we may eat fruit from the trees in the garden,” the woman replied. “It's only the fruit from the tree in the middle of the garden that we are not allowed to eat. God said, “You must not eat or even touch it; if you do, you will die.” “You won't die!” The serpent replied to the woman. “God knows that your eyes will be opened as soon as you eat it, and you will be like God, knowing both good and evil.” The woman was convinced. She saw that the tree was beautiful and its fruit delicious, and she wanted the wisdom it would give her. So she took some of the fruit and ate it, then she gave some to her husband who was with her and he ate it to. At that moment they felt shame at their nakedness.” Lust of the eyes (she saw) lust of flesh (beautiful/delicious) and pride of life (what it would do for her). Ephesians 2:1–2 NKJK “And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience” 1 John 5:19 NLT “The world around us is under control of the evil one”. John 12:31 NLT “The time for judging this world has come, when satan, the ruler of this world will be cast out. And when I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw everyone to myself.” You can’t enjoy the love of God when your enduring the love of the world. Romans 10:13 “Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved!”

Why I Bring

Malachi 3:10 NIV84 "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this", says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it." Psalm 24:1 NIV "The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it." Deuteronomy 8:17 NIV "You may say to yourself, my power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me. But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth." Luke 16:11 NIV "So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches?" The Penny Pincher. The Shopaholic. The Big Spender. The High Roller. Proverbs 22:26-27 NIV "Do not be a man who strikes hands in pledge or puts up security for debts; if you lack the means to pay, your very bed will be snatched from under you." Proverbs Chapter 22:7 NLT "Just as the rich rule the poor, so the borrower is servant to the lender." Ecclesiastes 6:9B GN "It is better to be satisfied with what you have than to always be wanting something else." Proverbs 21:20B GN "Stupid people spend their money as fast as they get it." Proverbs 21:5 NIV84 "The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty." Matthew 6:19-21 ESV "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Ecclesiastes 5:10 NIV84 "Whoever loves money never has money enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with his income." Luke Chapter 12:15 NIV84 "Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions." Matthew 6:24 ESV No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money. 1 Timothy 6:6-7 NIV84 "But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it."

Why I Make Excuses

Ephesians 2:10 NKJV For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Jeremiah 29:11 I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. John 16:33B NIV84 In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. Ephesians 3:20-21 NIV84 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! 2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 1 Samuel Chapter 17:8 NIV84 Goliath stood and shouted to the ranks of Israel, why do you come out and line up for battle? Am I not a Philistine, and are you not the servants of Saul? Choose a man and have him come down to me. If he is able to fight and kill me, we will become your subjects; but if I overcome him and kill him, you will become our subjects and serve us. Then the Philistine said, this day I defy the ranks of Israel! Give me a man and let us fight each other. Verse 11 When Saul and his troops heard the Philistine's challenge, they were terrified and lost all hope. Romans Chapter 8:15 NIV84 For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children. Verse 16 For forty days the Philistine came forward every morning and evening and took his stand. Verse 20 Early in the morning David left the flock with a shepherd, loaded up and set out, as Jesse had directed. He reached the camp as the army was going out to its battle positions, shouting the war cry. Israel and the Philistines were drawing up their lines facing each other. David left his things with the keeper of supplies, ran to the battle lines and greeted his brothers. As he was talking with them, Goliath, the Philistine champion from Gath, stepped out from his lines and shouted his usual defiance, and David heard it. When the Israelites saw the man, they all ran from him in great fear. Verse 32 David said to Saul, let no one lose heart on account of this Philistine; your servant will go and fight him. Saul replied, you are not able to go out against this Philistine and fight him; you are only a boy, and he has been a fighting man from his youth. Verse 37 The LORD who delivered me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine. Saul said to David, go, and the LORD be with you. Verse 45 David said to the Philistine, you come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the LORD Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. Verse 48-51 As the Philistine moved closer to attack him, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet him. Reaching into his bag and taking out a stone, he slung it and struck the Philistine on the forehead. The stone sank into his forehead, and he fell facedown on the ground. So David triumphed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone; without a sword in his hand he struck down the Philistine and killed him. David ran and stood over him. He took hold of the Philistine's sword and drew it from the scabbard. After he killed him, he cut off his head with the sword. 1 Corinthians 11:23 The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, this is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me. In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, this cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me. For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.
