The Power of Vision! How the City of Karratha Was Transformed Into Australia’s Most Liveable Regional Community
Vision is often talked about in leadership — but far less often do leaders get to see what happens when a vision becomes real.
In this episode of the Leadership Upgrade Podcast, I’m joined by Chris Adams, former CEO of the City of Karratha, to explore how a clear, shared vision helped transform Karratha from a transient mining town into what is now recognised as Australia’s most liveable regional community.

One of the most powerful measures of Karratha’s transformation was a simple but revealing question asked in an annual community survey:
How long do you intend to stay in the community?
Over time, the answers told a compelling story about belonging, belief, and the real-world impact of vision when people can genuinely see a future for themselves.
