Over The Post-Capitalist Workplace

In the #ThePostCapitalistWorkplace podcast, we explore the barriers and the realities for historically marginalised staff within the modern workplace. We will discover practical and paradigm shifting perspectives to creating a psychologically safe place where diversity of thought is valued. Seen in this light, accessibility can act as a form of decolonisation and disrupting colonial and capitalistic status quo. Your host, Anuradha Kowtha, the founder of The Kowtha Constellation, is neurodivergent, disabled, and non-binary and has two decades of experience working as a facilitator, educator, and catalyst for change. Join the conversation; we release two episodes a month.

EP05: Part 1 - What Does The Post-Capitalist Workplace Look Like?

In episode 5 and 6, we look at glimpses of the post capitalist workplace and give ourselves the space to create new possibilities. If you remember, in episode 3 and 4, Anuradha shared an overview of the obstacles workers face in the modern workplace. Instead of rushing and fix it, we must reimagine a workplace that is delightful, joyful, and liberatory and co-create that with our stakeholders for the long-term, in a sustainable way. In this episode, we begin envisioning the post capitalist workplace using the liberatory pillars laid out in episode 2. Anuradha shares some basic principles and examples of organizations championing innovation in the ways they work. Stay tuned for episode 6 where we continue the discussion. EP04: Part 2 - It can't be that bad: The real barriers to work

In episode 4, Part 2 of "It can't be that bad: The real barriers to work" episode, Anuradha details where we continue the exploration. Anuradha shares the 4 layers of systemic oppression and how those lenses shape our workplaces - through bias, attitudes, and policies. We look beyond the statistics and look at how the barriers impact workers and how the workplace is built on ableist, capitalist, colonial, and patriarchal tenets. Before we consider solutions and glimpses of post capitalist and equitable workplaces in episode 5 and 6, Anuradha urges you to sit with the discomfort and unease with the realities of the current workplace. Check out episode 3 for Part 1 of this conversation.
