We talk about when to give a child a timeout vs. when to take away an item causing the poor behavior. And we talk about acting quickly when behavior needs to be corrected, and the positive affect that zero tolerance has on poor behavior. (Kelly has done just a few timeouts with Charlie at this point.) Sergeant Susie shares her advice on how Kelly has been starting timeouts and offers suggestions to improve Kelly's current timeout method. We also cover what to do after the timeout is over.
