The Gift of Grace & Righteousness by Faith
Understanding the Gift of Grace & Righteousness by Faith
Here are some verses to keep on hand as you listen.
Ephesians 2:4-10 (NKJV)
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV)
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
Imagine a caterpillar that turns into a beautiful majestic butterfly! You too have been reborn into a new creation, created in Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:17 (AMP)
7 Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!
Ephesians 1:6-7 (NKJV)
7 In Him we have redemption (rescued) through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.
Verse 6 says: He made us accepted in the Beloved.
Accepted here means: to grace, i.e., indue with special honor: — make accepted, be highly favored.
