Corporate records listed Mnuchin as the official New York state contact for Next Management Corporation, a company formed by Jean-Luc and Arnaud Brunel, meaning his name was attached to receiving legal documents and handling official filings for the business. Mnuchin’s representatives later said he did not remember meeting the Brunel brothers, had never done business with them and did not know why he had been listed in that role, although they acknowledged his longtime friendship with Faith Kates, who later co-founded Next Model Management with the Brunels.
