In the first instalment of Agriland's 'Groundbreakers' series, we meet a Co. Galway farmer who is passionate about representing women in agriculture and tackling the issues they face. Mona O'Donoghue Concannon runs a dairy, beef and suckler farm with her husband, brother and daughter near Tuam, Co. Galway. She is chair of the Women in Agriculture Stakeholders Group, which aims to improve inclusivity and gender balance in farming. She spoke to Agriland about the barriers facing women in the sector, what changes are needed, and why she decided to become a farmer representative. Groundbreakers, proudly supported by FBD, is highlighting the important role of women in farming.
