AwE - Artists with Evidence
🌍 The first live conversation of Canopies of Care "A stranger is just a friend we haven't met yet" happened online on 25 June 2026, co-hosted by Ines Montalvao and Colin Greer, who were delighted to welcome two incredible guests: Scott Kellogg and Mohamed Sleiman Labat. From Albany, New York, Scott shared insights from his work at the RADIX Ecological Sustainability Center, [https://www.radixcenter.org/] where food sovereignty, ecological education, renewable energy, and community resilience come together in practice. Mohamed brought perspectives from the Sahrawi refugee camps, where sandoponic gardens, cultural initiatives (including Motif Art Studio [https://motifartstudio.com/]), and collective creativity can flourish even in conditions of displacement and uncertainty. Together, they explored how communities create systems of support, belonging, and hope - and what their experiences can show us about building more resilient and hopeful futures. We now invite our audience, friends, and creative community to listen to this episode and continue to help shape the conversation series as it unfolds. 🌱 The AwE podcast presents Canopies of Care, a podcast series based on live conversations exploring the visible and invisible infrastructures of care that shape our communities and more resilient futures. Through art-science, storytelling, and lived experience, each episode brings together inspiring voices from around the world. Curated and hosted by Ines Montalvao, Program Director at Artists with Evidence, and co-hosted by poet and humanist Colin Greer, the series welcomes a remarkable set of guests to reflect on prevention, relief, repair, and renewal. Welcome to the Canopy. Follow Artists with Evidence [https://linktr.ee/artistswithevidence] (AwE) and reach out if you want to get involved!
