Lisa Fischer has a unique backstory.  She is possibly the only session/tour singer who rose from touring with music icons Luther Vandross and the Rolling Stones, only to getting a recording contract with Elektra Records, then winning a Grammy for Best R&B song with her first single entitled, How Can I Ease The Pain, to letting it all go then returning to background singing, still touring with the Stones, then Sting, Nine Inch Nails, and Tina Turner. Her film debut in the Oscar winning documentary, 20 Feet From Stardom garnered her the next level of accolades and now her new vocal pieces she presents as a solo artist authentically place her in a category all by herself.  She is truly a singer’s singer.  Hear her speak on her journey.

Backstories with Siedah Garrett Ep. 005

Siedah Garrett comes to the music industry “table” with an impressive list of accomplishments. In addition to her work as a recording artist, session/ tour singer, and staff songwriter for numerous Quincy Jones projects which include her iconic composition “Man In The Mirror” for Michael Jackson, she sang the duet (“I Just Can’t Stop Loving You”) with Michael, toured with Sergio Mendez and Madonna, fronted pop group The Brand New Heavies, was nominated for an Oscar and won a Grammy for her song “Love You I Do” for the movie version of Dreamgirls. Still, she had time to release several solo projects, one of which was the theme song (Ever Changing Times) from the hit Diane Keaton film, Baby Boom, still continuing as a working session singer and voiceover artist. Backstories: Sandra St. Victor -Ep. 004

There are but a handful of people on this planet who possess such a diverse vitae as this artist. Sandra St. Victor is one of them. Her talent has carried her from New York City recording session singer to gracing the worldwide stage touring with Roy Ayers, Chaka Khan, to fronting the hip alternative funk/rock band The Family Stand, to her stellar solo projects including Mack Diva Saves the World, Gemini: Both Sides, Oya’s daughter to writing songs appearing on albums by Prince, Paula Abdul, Lalah Hathaway, to singing duet with music icon Curtis Mayfield. Darryl Phinnessee has had incredible success as an artist.  He is in a class all by himself.  In addition to his solo artistry, he’s toured as a backing vocalist with Michael Jackson, Lionel Ritchie, Rod Stewart, written the themes to two hit television series (Frazier and Kids Say The Darndest Things), recorded with Quincy Jones, and thats only a part of his illustrious backstory.
