Bonus Episode: Reactions to Tucker Carlson, Dispensationalism, Christian Zionism and Israel

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2595614/fan_mail/new] In this bonus episode, Cameron and Ricky react to conversations that have come from Tucker Carlson Show where he interviews various leaders who have religious and even Christian ideas regarding the nation of Israel, the Bible and political agendas.  Many ideas influencing leaders today who support the current country of Israel seem to draw from the places in the Bible where they might assume that support for Israel in any situation is good and will result in a blessing. The question is, does that Bible really teach this? What does the Bible mean when it says that those who bless Israel -- or the seed of Abraham -- will be blessed? Does this mean that Christians and the US should be in full support with Israel in order to guarantee God's blessing.  The conversation also addresses the theological or hermeneutical framework behind this way of thinking. Where or why do people think that these ideas are important?  Videos from Tucker Carlson that we are referring to are the following:  https://tuckercarlson.com/tucker-show-jdhall-062226 https://tuckercarlson.com/tucker-show-nathanapffel-061926 To learn more about this podcast and more that we are doing, you can go to bayareatheology.org [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2595614].  This is a podcast of Bayseed Collective [https://bayseed.org/]. Episode 6 - Worshipping God Covered in Cinnamon Dust with David Busch

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2595614/fan_mail/new] The most influential theologians in the church today are not the preachers; rather, it's the worship pastors and leaders. In this conversation with David Busch, Minister of Music & Worship Arts at First Baptist Church of San Francisco, joins us as we discuss the significance of worship and music in the theological formation of the church. Our conversation covers biblical, theological, philosophical and practical elements of worship and how music functions in such a powerful way in the life of disciples of Christ. Music and worship is often a hot topic issue, and can draw out a variety of opinions on almost any major and minor issue they contain. But David helps all who will listen with open minds and hearts to consider various ideas that God has helped him to develop over a lifetime of study and service. Please join us for this next installment of the Bay Area Theology Podcast. David is from Detroit, Michigan. Two things most people don't know is that he is shy and that he has played music in all but 4 states! If he could eat anywhere in SF, it would be a place that has a warm atmosphere with books and beautiful architecture accompanied by family and friends. Episode 5 - Pursuing Much Joy in Our Cities and Throughout the Bay Area with Phillip Lee

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2595614/fan_mail/new] In this episode, we are joined by Phillip Lee, pastor of Hope Community Church in Fremont and serves as the Executive Director for CityServe in the Fremont Tri-Cities.  Philip shares a bit of his story -- how he came to know and love Christ, how he pursued a call to ministry and was given opportunities to serve and lead at a very young age, yet he saw God bless his ministry.  As we talked about the Bay Area, we discussed the effects and results of sin as well as the power of the Gospel power to change lives. We discuss challenges and stresses that pastors experience in ministry and the necessity of keeping a clear and Christ-focused mindset. We also dabble a little bit into the differences between Presbyterians and Baptist and how various traditions may address things differently given the situation and timing.  There are some parts of this conversation you will want to take with you. You can listen here or on Youtube.  More information about CityServe can be found here. [https://cityservebayarea.org]And more about Compassion Network can be found here.
