Father's Day is a beautiful day for many people. For me, it's a reminder of a conversation I can no longer have. In this special Father's Day episode of Breaking the Silence, I share a deeply personal letter to my father, who passed away when I was 15 years old. Just one month after losing him, I found out I was pregnant with my son, Nikolaas, whom I named after my father. During one of the darkest seasons of my life, when I was grieving, depressed, and feeling alone, my son became a source of comfort and purpose. In this heartfelt episode, I reflect on the accomplishments I wish my father could have witnessed, the grandchildren I wish he could have met, and the questions I still wish I could ask him today. Fatherhood looks different for every man, but one thing remains the same: the impact a father has on the lives of his children. In this special Father's Day edition of Breaking the Silence, I sat down with Langley "Casual Word" Shazor, a longtime friend of mine who I consider family, to discuss his journey as a father and what fatherhood truly means to him. Langley is an Author, Podcaster, Motivational Speaker, Entrepreneur, Poet, Pastor, and Public Speaking Coach originally from the Virgin Islands.
