Call Me When They Kiss
This week, we’re reviewing the new romance series, Every Year After, based on Every Summer After by Carley Fortune. With the series coming out on Prime following the success of The Summer I Turned Pretty and Off Campus, we had high hopes, but ultimately, we were left disappointed. BUT before we share all of our candid thoughts, we have to talk about THAT behind-the-scenes photo from Beach Read, Emily Henry's new book announcement, and everything happening on Love Island USA. If you want to skip straight to our review of Every Year After, head to the 19-minute mark. In this episode, we discuss: * What the show did well * How the series compares to the book * Whether the changes from the book helped or hurt the story * Our thoughts on the characters and acting * The show's themes, maturity level, and romance * Audience reactions and what contributes to a successful adaptation * What ultimately got in the way of us fully enjoying the series As always, we’re sharing our honest, unfiltered opinions. We know not everyone will agree, but all are welcome in the conversation <3 Did Every Year After live up to your expectations? Did you like the episode and want to show us some love? Don’t forget to follow and leave us a five-star review!
