God Takes Infinite Delight In You | Conversation Starters 02

The idea we're working with today is this: the most perfect, righteous, infinitely wise being in existence — who hates sin — somehow delights in his children. He doesn't just tolerate us, He delights in us. We'll spend the rest of our lives trying to digest this statement. The key is identity. When you come to Christ, you become a child of God, and as a child, you're perfect in His sight. Zephaniah 3:17 puts it in almost uncomfortable terms: God rejoicing, exulting, singing over the people he loves. An infinite God, always smiling at you. Action item: Set alarms for 10am, 4pm, and 8pm. At each one, say: "Lord, thank you that you take infinite delight in me as your son/daughter." Before bed, reflect on how that changed things.

Today's exercise: Set three alarms — 10am, 4am, 8pm — and at each one, pause for 5-10 seconds and say: "Lord Jesus, thank you that you are a real person and that you are next to me right now."
