Daily Devotion with Pastor Balla
In this Daily Devotion for August 18, 2026, Pastor David Balla walks through Psalm 78:10-12, where disobedience turns out not to be the first problem. Forgetting came first, quietly and gradually, as the vivid wonders God had performed slowly faded from memory until walking away no longer felt like walking away from much at all. This devotion calls us to examine our own memory. What has God done in your life that you have quietly stopped remembering? More than that, what has He done for the whole world in Jesus, His life, death, and resurrection, that gets crowded out by ordinary days? That is where true grace, forgiveness, and salvation are found, accomplished once for all and never dependent on how well we remember it. Through His redemption we are welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven, and in the Lord's Supper He refreshes that memory again and again, giving His true body and blood for the forgiveness of sins. Guard your memory carefully. Return often to what God has done, especially to Jesus, crucified and risen for you. Remembering is a discipline worth protecting every day.
