Beskrivelse

Sega's Golden Axe is back as a ten episode adult animated series, and all ten episodes land on Paramount Plus on September 16. Mike McMahan (Star Trek: Lower Decks, Solar Opposites) and Joe Chandler (American Dad!) co-created it, with Matthew Rhys, Liam McIntyre, Lisa Gilroy, Danny Pudi and Carl Tart voicing the cast. I care about this one because of the pedigree behind it. McMahan and Chandler are two names I trust in adult animation, and the premise sounds like it knows exactly what it is: Ax Battler, Tyris Flare and Gilius Thunderhead reuniting to fight Death Adder again, stuck in a loop where the villain never stays dead. What breaks that loop is Hampton Squib, a brand new adventurer who is completely out of his depth, and I have questions about whether he is meant to read as DLC or as the player's stand in. The cast is stacked top to bottom, with Matthew Rhys as the angry dwarf Gilius Thunderhead, Liam McIntyre from Spartacus as Ax Battler, Lisa Gilroy as Tyris Flare, Danny Pudi as Hampton Squib, and Carl Tart as the panther warrior Chronos. Great creative team, great voice cast, a premise that plays with video game logic, and a binge drop instead of a weekly rollout. This one has a real shot. * 0:00 Golden Axe Is Officially a Show * 0:05 All Ten Episodes Land September 16 * 0:10 Mike McMahan and Joe Chandler Behind the Series * 0:23 The Death Adder Loop and the Meta Premise * 0:31 Hampton Squib, DLC or Player Stand In * 0:40 The Voice Cast Breakdown * 1:07 Why This Could Land * 1:16 Paramount Plus, Comedy Central, and Wrap Up Key Takeaways * Golden Axe premieres on Paramount Plus on September 16 with all ten episodes at once * Mike McMahan and Joe Chandler co-created the series, with Chandler serving as showrunner * The show moved from its original Comedy Central home to Paramount Plus * Voice cast: Matthew Rhys as Gilius Thunderhead, Liam McIntyre as Ax Battler, Lisa Gilroy as Tyris Flare, Danny Pudi as Hampton Squib, Carl Tart as Chronos * The premise leans meta, with the heroes seemingly aware they are stuck in a video game style repeat cycle * Hampton Squib is a new character built to disrupt that loop "The reason I care about this is because the pedigree." The Robin Williams Account Is an Anti AI Weapon

Robin Williams Is Back Online and It Is About AI Robin Williams' Instagram posted for the first time in 12 years, and his kids Zak, Zelda and Cody also launched Facebook, TikTok and YouTube accounts in his name. Zelda framed it plainly on her own Instagram: this is the best tool the family has for fighting AI recreations of her father's likeness and voice. I get why this feels strange, and I say so in the episode. But I walk through why it actually works. A dormant account does not rank in a Robin Williams search, so what fills that space is fan edits at best and AI slop at worst. An active family owned account gives people one verified place to check whether a photo or video is real, and it gives the family standing to file takedowns, which platforms only honor from accounts in good standing. The Stan Lee Instagram has been running this playbook for a while and it is worth a follow. This is still whack a mole and I am not pretending otherwise, but it is one of the few real levers anyone has right now. What gets me is that the people falling for these videos skew older, not younger, while the millennials who grew up on Robin are the ones watching his kids fight off replicas of their dead father. Have a heart. Let the man rest. Chapters * 0:00 The account posts after 12 years * 0:15 What Zelda Williams said about AI abuse * 0:31 Why a dormant account loses the search results * 0:44 One verified place to check photos and video * 0:59 Takedowns only work from an active account * 1:07 The Stan Lee account as the model * 1:13 Who is actually falling for AI videos * 1:31 Pushing back before AI coexistence gets worse Key Takeaways * Zak, Zelda and Cody reactivated Robin Williams' Instagram and added Facebook, TikTok and YouTube accounts under a joint statement. * Zelda's stated reason is AI abuse of her father's likeness and voice, not nostalgia. * Twelve years of dormancy means the account had no search presence, leaving room for fan edits and AI generated material. * Verified content in one official place gives fans a reference point for what is real. * Takedown requests carry weight only from an active account in good standing with the platform. * The Stan Lee Instagram is a working example of the same approach. * Nobody expects this to stop all AI generation, but it is the strongest tool available to the family. * Older users appear more likely to be fooled by AI video than younger ones. Quotes "A dormant account for 12 years is not going to rank in a Robin Williams search." (Frank) "Everything posted from there is verified and real." (Frank) "Now we have to be realistic here. This is whack a mole." (Frank) "Have a heart guys. Let the man rest." (Frank) "If we don't push back against stuff like this and the many other AI problems, we will not have a coexistence with AI that we actually want." (Frank) Go follow the Robin Williams Instagram account, then send this episode to the person in your life who keeps sharing AI videos of dead celebrities without realizing it. #RobinWilliams Facebook https://www.facebook.com/thegeekfreakspodcast [https://www.facebook.com/thegeekfreakspodcast] Threads https://www.threads.net/@geekfreakspodcast [https://www.threads.net/@geekfreakspodcast] Patreon https://www.patreon.com/GeekFreakspodcast [https://www.patreon.com/GeekFreakspodcast] Do you think reactivating a deceased person's account is the right call, or does it make the whole thing weirder? Have you already been fooled by an AI video of someone who has passed away?

Sebastian Stan Confirms Harvey Dent In The Batman Part Two

Sebastian Stan confirmed he is playing Harvey Dent in The Batman Part II during a French press interview about Avengers: Doomsday. Set photos showing Christmas decorations and wintry dressing have people asking whether Mr. Freeze is next. I have been waiting on a straight answer about Harvey Dent for months and we finally got one from Sebastian Stan himself. He was doing press for a French outlet, mostly answering questions about Avengers: Doomsday, and he said he only receives the script in pieces and films it that way. Then he said the same thing is happening on The Batman Part II, where he plays Harvey Dent. That is the confirmation. No more rumor cycles, no more insider posts contradicting each other. On top of that, set photos are showing Christmas decorations, which points to the sequel taking place over the holidays, and the production has been posting wintry material that has me hoping for Mr. Freeze. He is one of the best villains in the rogues gallery and most casual fans still know him from Arnold Schwarzenegger. Batman: The Animated Series made him tragic and genuinely cold, and I want a whole new audience to see that version. * 0:00 Sebastian Stan is confirmed as Harvey Dent * 0:05 The French interview and the Avengers: Doomsday question * 0:13 Filming scripts in pieces * 0:20 The Harvey Dent line that ends the rumors * 0:24 Christmas decorations spotted on set * 0:28 Wintry set dressing and the Mr. Freeze theory * 0:36 Why Mr. Freeze deserves a real adaptation * 0:46 Sign off * 0:48 New Geek Freaks episode and YouTube Key Takeaways * Sebastian Stan confirmed his own casting as Harvey Dent in The Batman Part II * The confirmation came from a French press interview built around Avengers: Doomsday * Stan says he receives scripts in pieces on both productions and films them that way * Christmas decorations on set suggest a holiday setting for the sequel * Wintry set material has fans speculating about Mr. Freeze * The Arnold Schwarzenegger version still defines Mr. Freeze for most casual viewers Quotes "Finally confirmed, we got Sebastian Stan playing Harvey Dent for The Batman Part two." "I really don't know anything. It's mostly in parts." "by the way, on set we're seeing Christmas decorations. So it's going to be taking place during Christmas." "Is that teasing towards Mr. Freeze? I sure hope so." "I think he's one of the best villains in Batman's rogues gallery." Mistborn's First Draft Is Done and the Director Hunt Is Next

Brandon Sanderson dropped a real progress report on the Apple deal, and the Mistborn movie just cleared its first big milestone. The Stormlight Archive series is locked at ten episodes, a producer is already picked for Mistborn, and the director search is the next domino. In this Cosmere check-in, we break down where both Apple adaptations actually stand. Sanderson has finished the first draft of the Mistborn screenplay, he is gathering notes, and he expects around three more revisions before it is done. A producer has been chosen but stays unannounced until the contracts close, which means the name likely surfaces in the Hollywood trades before it surfaces anywhere else. Director is the next hire and the one that matters most for how this film turns out. On the Stormlight side, the series is planned for ten episodes with the pilot as the first priority, Sanderson has not started that script yet, he will be working with writing partners, and he is serving as co-showrunner. We also get into the Salt Lake Tribune interview where Sanderson talks about holding James Gunn levels of creative control while openly admitting what he does not know and hiring people who do. Plus a realistic guess at release windows, why Apple's run of quality has earned some optimism, and an honest confession about a certain book series derailing an entire reading schedule. * 0:00 Cosmere Check-In * 0:15 Mistborn First Draft Is Done * 0:22 Producer Picked, Director Next * 0:37 Sanderson's Control and Knowing What He Does Not Know * 0:52 Stormlight Ten Episodes and Pilot First * 1:05 Release Window Predictions * 1:10 Apple's Track Record After F1 * 1:22 Reading Update and Sign Off Source: GeekFreaksPodcast.com If this one helped you keep track of where the Cosmere adaptations stand, subscribe wherever you listen so you catch the next update. Nathan Fillion Takes Guy Gardner Into Mister Miracle

Nathan Fillion is bringing Guy Gardner to DC Studios' animated Mister Miracle, and showrunner Tom King says the character's over the top energy is exactly why it works. It is also one more piece of proof that James Gunn's promise about the DCU's animated and live action sides being one universe is holding. Fillion is the first voice actor officially announced for Mister Miracle, the adult animated series based on the Eisner winning 12 issue run by Tom King and Mitch Gerads. This is not Fillion's first trip through the Green Lantern Corps either, since he spent years voicing Hal Jordan across DC's animated films before Gunn cast him as Guy in live action. King, who serves as showrunner and executive producer on the series, told Entertainment Weekly that Guy's tone lands even in a very different show because that is simply who the character is. The bigger story is continuity. Rick Flag Sr. was voiced by Frank Grillo in Creature Commandos and played by Frank Grillo in Superman, and now Guy Gardner is jumping mediums with the same actor attached. Mister Miracle follows Scott Free and Big Barda trying to live quietly on Earth while Darkseid and the war between Apokolips and New Genesis close in, and King has already teased that the Darkseid casting will surprise people. No premiere date yet, with Titmouse handling animation for DC Studios and Warner Bros. Animation. * 0:00 Nathan Fillion cast as Guy Gardner in Mister Miracle * 0:08 Fillion's history voicing Hal Jordan in DC animation * 0:17 Tom King on why Guy fits the tone of the show * 0:24 Animation and live action staying connected in the DCU * 0:35 Who else could cross over and what to watch for next News source: GeekFreaksPodcast.com If this one hit right, hit follow on Apple Podcasts or Spotify so new Headlines drops land in your feed automatically.
