As a generation of people who lived across two relational worlds, in childhood and adolescence we related in person, in real life, which felt normal to us, whereas now most relational transactions are mediated by a screen.

Dr Charlotte Armitage discusses how devices impact the parent child relationship and the subtle ways that being on a smart device can displace key relational behaviours in family life.
