Beskrivelse

In this episode of the missionary journey of Paul and Barnabas, we see how God provided for the churches that were established when people believed in Jesus and became his disciples. The Lord gave truth to strengthen the disciples’ souls, elders to watch over the congregations, and grace to sustain them in faithfulness through the many tribulations they will face. These are our provisions for today. Let us receive them with gratitude and joy. Grace Community Church exists to build spiritually healthy people for ministry in the world. One of the ways that we pursue this mission is by gathering each Sunday for corporate worship, prayer, and biblical teaching. The corporate nature of this gathering is both edifying to the believer and a witness of God’s grace to the world. Sermon speaker is Scott Patty unless otherwise noted.

episode One Gospel - Galatians 2:1-10 - June 21, 2026 cover

One Gospel - Galatians 2:1-10 - June 21, 2026

In this section of Galatians Paul continues to refute the false teachers who accused him of preaching a gospel that was different from the one preached by the other apostles. In the end, Paul shows that he and the other apostle agreed on the gospel of God’s grace and faith in Christ for salvation, and that they joined hands in taking that gospel to Jews and non-Jews alike. Today, we rejoice that the one true gospel of Jesus Christ has been protected and preserved for the sake of Christ’s glory and the good of our souls. Let’s press on in the freedom of Christ’s grace and bear its fruit in our lives. Grace Community Church exists to build spiritually healthy people for ministry in the world. The Gospel Is from God, Not Man - Galatians 1:11-24 - June 14, 2026

The gospel is not from man in any way, it is from God in every way. The gospel’s origin, accomplishments, revelation to us, and application to our hearts are all from God. This means it is truly the power of God to save us from our sins and for a right relationship with him. What do we gain from knowing the gospel is from God and not from man? Confidence that the gospel is true, trust in the finished work of Christ, assurance of our salvation, awakening in love and gratitude to God, and new energy to live for his glory. episode An Astounded Apostle, A Band of Troublemakers, and Christians in Danger - Galatians 1:1-10 - June 7, 2026 cover

An Astounded Apostle, A Band of Troublemakers, and Christians in Danger - Galatians 1:1-10 - June 7, 2026

The opening of Paul’s letter to the Galatians gets right to the point. Paul is upset that some people are adding human works and merit to the gospel of God’s grace and justification by faith. He is concerned that this “different gospel”— which is no gospel— is being taught in the churches and embraced by Christians. This false gospel will do damage to the souls of these Christians, as it renders the death of Christ meaningless. With this concern, Paul launched into this letter to clarify the gospel of Christ, refute the false teachers, and rescue the churches from danger. Today, we give our attention to this letter and heed the call to keep the gospel clear in our minds so it will transform our hearts for the glory of God.
