For generations the mention of Blacks, in context to the Bible, has been painted as a cursed and inferior people. However, the Bible reveals a very different image of the descendents of Ham. Langston Hughes' poem of hope and expectation.

While watching Tyler Perry's recent 8:46 video and hearing him repeat the word "daybreak" I was reminded of a poem I was introduced to in high school, Langston Hughes' Daybreak in Alabama.

A recent speech given during this time of celebrating the contributions of blacks in American history. Most people are unaware that the birth of America was made possible in part to many non-European colonial inhabitants of America. Many blacks, and also native Americans, fought for the Continental Army in the Revolutionary War, were wealthy businesses owners, great scientist and inventors...and so much more.
