He has also written biographies of revolutionary figures and edited several important works on Punjabi writers and activists, including Pash and Sant Ram Udasi. Sidhu edited the science magazine Vigyan Jyot for twenty-one years and the literary magazine Raag for four years, while also documenting the oral histories of prominent Doaba villages for Nawan Zamana. His first collection, Nachiketa Di Maut, received Guru Nanak Dev University’s Bhai Vir Singh Fiction Award in 2000, followed by the Kartar Singh Dhaliwal Award in 2003 and the Bharatiya Bhasha Parishad’s national Yuva Puraskar in 2005–06. His writing has inspired six MPhil and thirteen PhD research projects, and Khushk Akh Da Khwab has been translated into Hindi and transliterated into Shahmukhi. Ajmer is a school teacher by profession.
