ORU Student Preach-a-Thon

5 Students share short messages in the annual Fall Student Preach-a-Thon for ORU Chapel. Mateo Ayala is a Junior Finance major. His message is entitled: "Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus." The return of Jesus will happen soon and it is a blessing. The return of Jesus is our hope for the future. A generation will be raised up to prepare a people ready for the return of the Lord. Emily Blakey a Graduate student earning a Masters of Professional Counseling shares her story and how it taught her to hope. Hope kept her even during hard times while losing her mother to cancer. Hope requires us to change our perspective. Our hope is in the person of Jesus. His compassions are new each morning and He is good to those who place their hope in Him. Brook Bulualem is a Junior working on a Dual major in Ministry and Leadership and in Mathematics. The way we respond to the people we see is the way we respond to Jesus who we do not see. Judgment comes with the return of Christ. The true evidence of the transformative power of the Gospel is our Love one for another. Abigail Sosa is a Senior International Business major. Bitterness is Bondage. We can break the bondage of bitterness. We must break the chains of unforgiveness toward each other. Jesus commands us to love one another in the same way that we love Him. We must choose to forgive as Jesus forgave us. Steve Robinson is a Graduate student working on his Masters of Divinity degree brings a message entitled, "Empowered by the Holy Ghost." We need the Spirit to set us on fire with His power, His love, and His boldness. It starts with the Word of God.
