0127: Make-a-Plan Monday | November 17-23

It’s interesting to me that President Oaks became our new Prophet right before we got to these two sections of the Doctrine and Covenants. Section 133 is about preparing ourselves for the Second Coming (which we’ve heard a LOT about lately), but section 134 is about governments and how they’re supposed to serve the people. President Oaks was a justice of the Utah Supreme Court – he knows a bit about governments and how they’re supposed to work. I also find it interesting that he’s our prophet now when it seems like our government is a bit of a mess (it has been for a while – this isn’t a new thing). As we prepare for the second coming, what should our government look like? Is it supposed to be in chaos? Or should things be calm?  It’s not a mistake. Our Heavenly Father has a plan and it’s in motion. And the best part? We get to CHOOSE which part we play in that plan.  There isn’t a lot of stuff to review this week – our average study time is only about 15-16 minutes each day. 0120: Make-a-Plan Monday | September 29 - October 5

How do you feel when you leave the temple? Do you feel the angels around you? Do you feel like you’re armed with the power of God? What does that feel like for you? I love going to the temple because when I’m there I feel like I’m home. We are so blessed to have so many around the world. There’s only one checklist this week, and we’re averaging about 20 minutes every day. Lots of good stuff specific to the Kirtland temple, but also quite a bit that’s applicable to us. There are at least 2 talks by President Nelson – the most applicable prophet to us. This week could be triggering for some. We’re digging into marriage and families and polygamy. Please remember that we teach the ideal so that when (if) we make it to the celestial kingdom, we won’t be surprised by how it’s organized. We also need to learn about the ideal because that’s what we should be striving for. That doesn’t mean we will all get it, and our Father in Heaven knows that.  I’ve divided it up to an average of about a half-an-hour each day. 0124: Make-a-Plan Monday | October 27 ��� November 2

There’s a lot going on this week and quite a few things to study. Do the best you can, but don’t burn yourself out. There’s so much that I’ve created two different plans.  Plan A will take, on average, about 24 minutes every day. The only section of the Doctrine & Covenants that we’re looking at this week is over 38 minutes by itself.  Plan B will take about an hour and 12 minutes every day. I don’t think we’ve had one that heavy since … Easter? But it’s all good stuff. From the Nauvoo temple, to patriarchal blessings, and beginning the trek west, there’s so much to learn, review, or remember. Don’t let the length of things discourage you. Your Father in Heaven knows what you can do and He only expects you to try.
