After being dismissed from the line of succession twice, Elizabeth Petrovna was tired of watching Russia fall into the hands of twisted and incompetent rulers. Whether or not she had been born out of wedlock, Elizabeth was still the daughter of Peter the Great, and she knew she could restore Russia to its glory days. Unfortunately, Elizabeth's nephew and heir, Peter III, despised his aunt and country, and dreamed of a future where Russia would belong to his homeland, Germany. A new empress would be needed to prevent Peter from destroying Russia . . . and she would go down in history as one of Russia's greatest leaders. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app [https://anchor.fm/app]
