Who Is Wise Among You?

Continuing our study through James, we come across the question, "Who is wise among you?". This is not a question to identify who, but rather to describe those who truly are wise and understanding. Discussion/Reflection: How is "wisdom from above" different than "earthly wisdom"? In what ways can you actively pursue peace in your church and community?

The Tongue Is A Fire

Pastor Travis continues our study through James. James reminds us that good works are not limited to just actions, but that words are also works. Discussion/Reflection: When have you experienced words used to damage or harm? In what ways have you used your words to bless and/or curse?

Faith: Dead or Alive?

Do you have faith in Jesus? Is it just words or does your faith spur action? In James chapter 2 we will explore his most famous teaching. "Faith without works is Dead". Discussion/Reflection How is "dead faith" different from having no faith at all? What evidence is there in your life of "living/active faith'?

Where James addresses the Jewish Christian communities regarding the favoritism toward the rich, and their discrimination against the poor.
