Something has to be dead to be made alive.  Being alone is being dead.  Something alone just is what it is, but when it connects or joins to something else it becomes alive. A grain of wheat is just a grain of wheat until it connects with the ground and dies- meaning it no longer is just a grain of wheat , but it becomes a stalk of wheat .
