In this episode, I catch up with my friend Anna Louden (Kacius), whom I met last summer while running the TMB with Vagabond Trails. We dive into her journey into trail ultra running—how she got started, what drives her, and the highs and lows of transitioning to life as a pro athlete. Anna shares what fuels her every day, her love for the sport, and the challenges that come with chasing big goals. We also talk about her upcoming Tarawera 100km race, her deep connection to the Western States Endurance Run, and why securing a Golden Ticket back to this legendary race is so important to her. An episode of reminiscing with Jimmy Werewight. In the 1999-2001 period, he was one of the most formidable offensive TFC Talents in the world. Holding various global speed running records, locked in battle with the likes of [BBQ] ]{ermit as they jostled back and forward for supremacy. This episode was recorded in haste as I (Malcolm) prepared to leave Melbourne to move to London. I got Sam (Squiddy) and Jimmy (Werewight) together late one night once the kids had gone to bed, and we reminisced about Werewights journey, coming up in Wellington, buying HL GOTY Edition and getting deep into the competitive gaming scene at its peak in New Zealand. We spin some yarns and tell some stories about interesting cats he met along the way, we find out which NZF Gamers were at his wedding, and we even hear about the time he drove Jedateach from Wellington to Palmy having never met him before. Some great nostalgia material, and a great insight into the mind of one of NZF's all time most competetive and passionate players. Enjoyed this Jimmy.

After harassing Matt for 6 months, I finally got him to agree to sit down with me and reminisce about our time at Camp Westmont as Counsellors. (Malcolm 2003, 2007-2009 || Matt 2010-2017) We take a high level look at Caveman's time at Camp, how he got his job and dig into the trials and tribulations of working for 7 weeks at an American Sleepaway Camp. Matt takes us on a Journey from his first summer a newbie on the waterfront through to being Ross's right hand man, running the programming and eventually taking his place alongside other Westmont Legends on the wall of the Dining Hall as a Colour War General. Stories in this episode are based on recollection of historical events as remembered by us, apologies for any factual inaccuracies.

In this episode, I sit down and reminisce with Sam Durbin AKA Squiddy about the New Zealand Team Fortress Classic (TFC) scene back in the late 90's and early/mid 2000's. We discuss his journey into PC gaming, how he found his love for TFC and the story of how he came to be the owner/custodian of nzfortress.co.nz We then dive into some chat about how lessons he learnt then are still relevant to him now, both in corporate New Zealand and as a father, husband and engaged member of his new communities. A reminder, that we'd had a couple of beers and were reminiscing about events that happened 20 years ago, so for any factual inaccuracies and misremembered gaming tags and clan names, we ask your forgiveness. N.B - Contains discussion on mental health and suicide. Contains minimal swearing, you'll be right.

In my first ever attempt at podcasting, I interview my big boss, and personal friend about his journey from Bayswater High School to CIO of a large accounting firm.
