Kim Gatewood PT, DPT, NCS a seasoned clinician shares clinical pearls, hard-earned lessons, and practical takeaways. Kim Gatewood, PT, DPT, NCS, is an Associate Clinical Professor for Northern Arizona University’s Program in Physical Therapy at the Phoenix Bioscience Core. She also works at HonorHealth John C. Lincoln Medical Center and serves on the CEU Committee for the Arizona Physical Therapy Association. Kim obtained her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1981 and her Post Professional Clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona in 2008. She has worked in acute, sub-acute and outpatient settings with patients with a variety of orthopedic, medical and neurologic diagnosis across the age spectrum from pediatric to geriatric. As a Board Certified Specialist in Neurologic Physical Therapy, Kim’s passion is to teach acute care and neurologic physical therapy to students and fellow professionals as well as to treat medically complex patients and individuals with multiple trauma and neurologic diagnoses. She is a mentor in the HonorHealth and NAU Neurologic Physical Therapy Residency Program. She has instructed in continuing education courses in proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation around the country and in Saudi Arabia. She enjoys hiking and spending time with her family. Dr. Robert Manske PT, DPT, MPT, MEd, SCS, ATC, CSCS shares his clinical journey and the lessons learned in 30 plus years of practice. Mr. Robert C. Manske PT, DPT, MPT, MEd, SCS, ATC, CSCS, FAPTA, is a professor and former chair in the Doctoral Physical Therapy Program at Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas. Rob graduated from WSU in 1991 with a Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education, a Master of Physical Therapy degree in 1994, and further earned a Master of Education degree in Physical Education in 2000. Rob completed a year- long sports physical therapy fellowship in 1997 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in LaCrosse, WI. He received his DPT from Massachusetts General Institute of Health Professions in 2006. Rob has been an APTA Board Certified Sports Physical Therapist since 2002. Rob is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and a certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) through the National Athletic Trainers Association. Rob has been nominated and received numerous awards for excellence in teaching at the local, state, and national level – receiving the APTA prestigious Catherine Worthingham Award in 2024, the Sports Academy’s Turner A. Blackburn Hall of Fame Award in 2021, the Sports Academy’s Ron Peyton Award in 2018, and the Sports Academy’s Excellence in Education Award in 2007. He was a 3 term Executive Committee member for the American Academy of Sports Physical Therapists serving presently as the Representative at Large as well as two prior terms as Vice President. To date Rob has edited/published 12 books, multiple book chapters, and over 100 articles and home study courses related to orthopedic and sports rehabilitation. Rob is an editor for both the “International Journal of Sports Physical Therapy” and “Journal of Sports Rehabilitation” and is also currently a manuscript reviewer for The Journal of Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy, Athletic Training and Sports Health Care, Sports Health a Multidisciplinary Approach, Physical Therapy in Sports, and The American Journal of Sports Medicine (AJSM), and in the years 2005-2007, 2011-2020 was named a Principal Reviewer for AJSM. Rob has lectured at the state and national and international level during meetings for APTA, NATA and the NSCA, and has instructed approximately 10-12 courses per year on knee and shoulder rehabilitation. In addition to his full-time faculty appointment, Rob is a physical therapist and athletic trainer for Ascension Via Christi Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy and serves as a Teaching Associate at the University of Kansas Medical Center Department of Rehabilitation Sciences in Kansas City, and the Department of Community Medicine for the Via Christi Family Practice Sports Medicine Residency Program. Most importantly Rob continues to practice weekly – spending approximately 8 hours per week treating a variety of shoulder, elbow, and knee conditions! His specialty is treating the athlete from recreational to professional. Christina is an ABPTS Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) and has completed advanced certifications in Empowered Relief, Therapeutic Pain Specialist (TPS), Hybrid Teaching and Learning and Advanced Functional Biomechanics of the Lower Quarter. While working in a university based medical system, she precepted medical students, orthopedic, sports and family practice residents and fellows, as well DPT /PTA students as a CI throughout her career. In addition to her current clinical and SCE roles, she teaches as adjunct faculty for several hybrid DPT programs. Hélène Bouchard PT is a dedicated and empathic pelvic floor physical therapist with over 25 years of clinical experience, including over 15 years specializing in pelvic floor therapy and pain management. She is committed to helping women, men, transgender individuals and children achieve pelvic health wellness through targeted education and empowerment. Her clinical practice encompasses the full spectrum of pelvic health conditions, including urinary and fecal incontinence, urgency, prolapse, pessary management, post-surgical rehabilitation, dyspareunia, and sexual dysfunction. With a deep understanding of pelvic health across the lifespan — from early childhood through menopause — she supports clients in reaching their individual goals, whether that involves continence, postpartum recovery, return to sport, perimenopause management, or post-prostatectomy rehabilitation. Hélène has pursued advanced training in dry needling for the lumbopelvic-hip complex, achieving strong results in the treatment of orthopedic conditions, sacroiliac dysfunction, and pain management. She holds additional expertise in vestibular disorders and neurology, and brings a passion for teaching to her work with clients and colleagues alike. She is fluent in both English and French.
