Someone Like Me – Your Cancer Community Podcast
Amy shares her experience of being diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma in her mid-30s, following a miscarriage and months of uncertainty around unexplained symptoms. Amy speaks openly about the shock of diagnosis, navigating stage three cancer, chemotherapy, fertility preservation, early menopause, and the emotional toll cancer takes on both the person diagnosed and their loved ones. This conversation covers the realities people do not always talk about, including fear after treatment ends, body image, hair loss, IVF, mental health, the impact on partners and family, and the importance of support, self-care, and advocating for yourself within the healthcare system. A powerful and compassionate conversation, Amy reminds listeners they are not alone and that life after cancer is possible, even when the journey is hard. Please note: This podcast was recorded in 2025. Amy will be back for Part Two, where she shares her IVF journey in more detail and the exciting news that she is now pregnant. A massive congratulations to Amy and her husband on this wonderful new chapter—we’re so happy for you both! https://www.instagram.com/someonelikeme_cancerapp/ [https://www.instagram.com/someonelikeme_cancerapp/]
