The sin of idolatry is when we put our faith in something other than God. For the Israelites the golden calf seems foolish and almost silly but we too have something to learn when we put our faith in our account balances, a person we love, in our careers, or something else trusting that they will rescue us in the place of God. How do we make sure that we do not make idols out of the people, passions, and blessings God has given us?
