Beskrivelse

The biggest story in Corvallis this week centers on Rich Dorman's replacement. After Dorman left Corvallis for a job on Florida's staff, taking multiple Oregon State pitchers with him, former OSU All-American Andrew Moore has assumed the role of Oregon State's pitching coach. Moore, who fans in the Northwest may also remember from his time pitching for the Seattle Mariners, most recently spent time coaching pitchers for minor league clubs in the Cleveland Guardians organization. Meanwhile, the Oregon State football program has seen some big wins in recent days. There's been a massive surge in commitments on the defensive side of the ball, notably with prospects coming from all over the country. In the case of in-state linebacker Kawai Chamberlin, the Beavers beat out new conference mates Boise State and San Diego State for a commitment. It's also time to begin our series of conversations with experts on Oregon State's Pac-12 brethren ahead of the 2026 football season. This week, Texas State Bobcats journalist Keff Ciardello, host of Win Now or Get Bent [https://www.youtube.com/@WinNoworGetBent], joins the show to offer his perspective on the relaunch of the conference. It's a very busy week in Corvallis and beyond. Go Beavs. Music by audionautix.com. What Are The New Pac-12's Priorities This Summer?

This week on State of the Beavs, there's plenty to get to from the Oregon State perspective, as well as league-wide. Kevin Griffin's tenure has begun as Oregon State's athletic director. In the opinion of your host Matt Bagley, the former Ohio State associate AD inspires confidence. Bagley also takes a look at the Brendan Sorsby drama that engulfed college football over the last ten days, as well as what Texas Tech's options actually are at quarterback for that second week of the season against the Beavers. On the baseball diamond, Oregon State lost pitching coach Rich Dorman to Florida, and freshman All-American Trey Morris followed. The Beavers are also preparing to lose critical starters Ethan Kleinschmit and Eric Segura to Major League Baseball, who themselves will be participating in the MLB Scouting Combine. The first season of the new Pac-12 begins in July. We still don't know what will happen with regards to media days...It's going to be a busy year for Pac-12 Enterprises. episode Where Does Oregon State Baseball Go After No Super Regional in 2026? cover

Where Does Oregon State Baseball Go After No Super Regional in 2026?

The Oregon State baseball program saw their season come to an end in the NCAA Tournament, short of where they were hoping. It was a dramatic end at that, falling 4-1 to the Oregon Ducks at PK Park. It was an up-and-down weekend for the Beavers who started rocky against Washington State, bounced back against Yale, got revenge on the Cougars, then couldn't find enough offense to make up for some late pitching mishaps against the Ducks. What went right? What went wrong? Where do the Beavs go from here? Now that the season is officially over, it's a great time to take stock of what the actualy state of the Oregon State baseball program is. Do the Beavers need to fill some immediate needs in the transfer portal? Or are they prepared to dominate in the new Pac-12 Conference? You'll also hear your host Matt Bagley discuss what's coming up for the podcast as the 2027 college football season gets closer and a whole new year awaits for Oregon State athletics.
