The David Spoon Experience
Section 1 Using the familiar question, "Do you believe in miracles?" as a starting point, Dr. Dave explains that every believer already answers that question by believing in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He defines a miracle as the kingdom of God breaking into the natural world to accomplish what human ability and natural law cannot achieve. Salvation itself stands as the greatest ongoing miracle because every person who is born again experiences a supernatural work of God. The lesson emphasizes that miracles are not relics of biblical history but expressions of God's living power at work among His people today. Section 2 Several passages of Scripture establish that miracles continue to serve God's purposes by confirming both His truth and His compassion. Drawing from Galatians, Acts, Mark, and the ministry of Jesus, Dr. Dave explains that God works through signs and wonders to affirm His Word and demonstrate His love for people in need. He also shares his own dramatic deliverance from drug addiction as a personal testimony of God's miraculous intervention. Rather than focusing on sensational experiences, the teaching encourages believers to recognize the countless ways God has already displayed His power throughout their lives, even though many of those miracles often go unrecognized or unshared. Section 3 Jehoshaphat's response to an overwhelming military threat provides a practical pattern for facing situations that only God can resolve. Confronted with an impossible circumstance, the king openly confessed that he did not know what to do, yet deliberately fixed his eyes upon the Lord. Instead of surrendering to fear, he led the people in praise and thanksgiving before the battle had been won. Dr. Dave concludes that this same principle remains true for believers today. When human resources reach their limit, faith keeps its focus on God, acknowledges complete dependence upon Him, and offers praise even before the answer arrives, trusting that the Lord is able to accomplish what no one else can do.
