Episode 113 Monday 2nd March

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2275977/fan_mail/new] Monday. At the encouragement of a relative who works in healthcare I ask my doctor if I can have a fit note due to my grief. 15 Minutes later a fit note is issued and the doctor rings to ask how mentally I am doing. Gym has been cancelled until further notice to let me be near my wife. In the evening I go to be with her. Tuesday. I take my fit note into lion yard for my employer and then I go and see my friends in Parking Services and I have a chat with them. I then return to home and then I go and be with my wife. Wednesday. There is nothing to do so I go and spend some time at Anglesey Abbey. I spend a good while remembering the good times that I spent with my wife. I have a cry and then head for home. Before I leave I make an enquiry about our membership and again I burst into tears. I then get in the car and head for home. And then I go and see my wife who I have been told is nearing the end of her life. I spend the night with her. Thursday. Overnight my wife tries to prevent her from dying but in the morning my wife is as white as snow indicating he heart is packing up. I kiss her goodbye as I need to go home and have some proper sleep. This I know will be the last time I see my wife alive. In the evening I get an update from D9 saying that my wife is ready to go and there is no point in coming to see her as she will not know who I am. It is just a matter of time. Friday. My wife passess peacefully to rest. I write in Both family whatsapp groups with a photo of both me and my wife " Sarah O'Dell Born 5th June 1969, Died 6th March 2026". The rest of the day is in comtemplation. I arrange with my younger brother to meet at my mums at 11 tomorrow. Saturday. When I wake up I realise that I have to live on my own for the first time in 59 years. We meet at my mums and spend the day there and then home. Sunday. It is a normal Sunday. Sunday Politics East on Tv in the morning and then its off to Bar Hill for the weekly shop and then home. And then my Sunday Roast Ready meal in the evening.

Episode 112 Monday 23rd February

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2275977/fan_mail/new] Monday. Is a straight forward day. Morning I do bills. Then lunch and then to the gym. Then home and then after that I go and see my wife. I then head home after my visit. Tuesday. Another boring day. Its raining and cold. Everything is clean and so finish the day on time and then go and see my wife. Wednesday. Its still wet and windy and everything remains clean. Tonight I go straight home. Thursday. Again another cold wet and windy day. Again another boring day. In the evening I go and see my wife. And then home. Friday. End of the week and there is nothing to do due to the weather. At lunchtime I get a phonecall from the Palliative Care team and they have said that my wifes health has taken a turn for the worse and I need to be with her. I whatsapp my boss and inform him that I am leaving work early tonight and just check Jesus Green. I then get the car and battle through the heavy traffic. I get to addenbrookes and get to D9. I spend 5 hrs with her and then home. Saturday. I expect my wife to have passed away but when I get to Addenbrookes she is watching T.V. I stay with her for the entire day and stay with her in the evening as well. Sunday. I have stayed with my wife overnight and she wakes up but has shallow breathing and can hardly talk. However things slowly improve enough for me to go home in the evening.

Episode 111 Monday 16th February

So I just contemplate on what is happening to both of us. All of a sudden its lunch and its off to the gym for the afternoon session. Then it back home for a short while and then its off to Addenbrookes to see my wife. Tuesday. Its half term this week but i doubt its going to be busy as its very cold and wet. The market traders are also at home and the market square toilets are clean. And I finish work on time and then I go and see my wife and then after 90 minutes home. Wednesday. While I am walking around I get a Phone call from the Occupational Therapist. I put the phone down on him. I then am angry at what he is proposing not happy at all! All the buildings are clean and I finish the day on time. After which I go and see mt wife for 90 minutes and then home. Thursday. I still am angry about yesterday but the buildings are clean. Later in the day and palliative care rings me up and assures about the overninght care. I then am happy. Friday. Everything is clean as usual. I get a phone call from Planned Discharge and they think that letting my wife come home would be unsafe and they want her to go into a carehome instead. I am very happy with this. I go home and then have my evening gym session. Saturday. Everything is back to its normal routine, I clean the house in the morning and then go and see my wife in the afternoon. Then after my visit I collect my fish and chips and return home. Sunday. Its an unusual start to the day as I get a phone call saying that my wife has been moved to ward D9 and will remain there until discharge. And the its on with the usual Sunday.

Episode 110 Monday 9th February

I still do nothing as I am still stunned from what palliative care has said. Lunchtime comes and I make something to eat and then go to the gym. I hope that the afternoon gym session will make me feel better. But then my PT asks about my wife and I burst into tears. I then after the session go home. Tuesday. Back to work and its still cold and raining. I ask my uncle to see if he will give me a lift to addenbrookes. He later on replies he will. Its just an ordinary day at work Later on I go to my uncles and go and see my wife. And then I go home. Wednesday. I've decided to buy what will be her last valentine's present. But what do I buy her ? I've decided on buying her a small bear. The day is grotty and the buildings are clean. I go straight home from work. Thursday. Its just like Tuesday. Cold and wet and the buildings are clean. In the evening I go and see my wife. Friday. All the buildings are clean except market square toilets which are dirty. I then finish the day and I go home as its a gym session in the evening. Saturday. First I have my breakfast then I go off to a famous supermarket chain to buy a small bear. I see one he is holding a small pink bag with writing on it. It says " The reasons why I love you" I go back home have my lunch and then go and see my wife. I give her the bear and then after a while I go home. Sunday. Sunday starts off in the usual way T.v in the morning then I go for my weekly shop in Bar Hill I then return home. A little while later I get a phonecall from my wife. But its not my wife its a nurse. I go rushing up the hospital! I then return home after 90 minutes. I then have my Sunday Roast Ready meal and then to bed.

Episode 109 Monday 2nd February

I update my Podcast in the morning then have lunch and then in the afternoon go to the gym and the after the hour go home and have some rest. And then go up to the hospital to see my wife and then home. Tuesday. This morning before work I email the Parish Clerk and give apologies for my absence. Then at work everything remains clean. I do the two cleaning rounds and then get changed and head for addenbrookes where I visit my wife for 90 minutes and then return home. Wednesday. Today is a repeat of yesterday but I go straight home after work. Thursday. I go to work as usual and again the round is clean. However I get a phone call from Palliative Care saying that my wife's life is coming to the end. Then after the second round I change and go and see my wife. I don't know if Palliative care have told what is happening to her and therefore I don't mention the phonecall. I then go home. Friday. I am still numb from the phonecall yesterday. However the round remains clean all day and I then go straight home and then go for my evening gym session. Saturday. Its the usual Saturday Routine. Do the housework in the morning and then off to addenbrookes. Its getting very expensive. I see my wife for 2.5 hrs and then I go home. I get my Fish and Chips and then some t.v and then to bed. Sunday. I spend most of the day in tears. I do the weekly shop and then spend the rest of the day telling neighbours about my wife and I then end the day in tears and then to bed.
