It features canoe races, cultural performances, Métis and Cree storytelling, live music, and more. Should politicians have an expiry date?

Many Canadians say they've lost confidence in politics and are looking for ways to make government more accountable. A new paper from Lydia Miljan, senior fellow at the Fraser Institute and author of Term Limits for Parliamentarians, argues that practical changes like a 12-year term limit for federal politicians could strengthen Canadian democracy without reopening the Constitution. She joins Evan to share her findings and what major changes would happen if this was implimented tomorrow.

Are sick days being abused?

Calling in sick could soon become a lot more complicated in Germany. The government is proposing that workers provide a doctor's note from the very first day they're off sick, saying the move is needed to reduce absenteeism and improve productivity. Critics argue it would overwhelm doctors' offices, discourage people from staying home when they're contagious and create more red tape than results.
