This week at The Film Club we’re talking about, The Devil’s Backbone! The film takes place during the Spanish Civil War in a haunted orphanage. A young boy named Carlos has just been dropped off at the orphanage after his father’s death in the war. Carlos learns very quickly that the other boys aren’t the only obstacle he has to contend with he becomes haunted by the spirit of a boy who died there in the orphanage. Join us as we dive into the world of The Devil’s Backbone.

Episode 246: Mimic (1997)

This week at The Film Club we’re talking about Guillermo Del Toro’s first American feature film, Mimic! Join us and friend of the podcast Rene as we discuss this bug filled 90s film! The film takes place in New York City where an epidemic of cockroaches are killing the city’s youth and in an attempt to combat these insects an entomologist is brought in to create a new hybrid bug to destroy the cockroaches. The new species of bug does what it’s designed to do however it continues to evolve and its appetite grows for much bigger prey. Join us as we dive into the world of Mimic.
