The Letterbox Podcast
Content Warning: This episode contains discussions of domestic abuse, domestic violence, coercive control, emotional abuse, physical abuse, trauma, gaslighting, and child exposure to domestic violence. In this episode of The Letterbox Podcast, j share a powerful anonymous letter from a domestic abuse survivor who bravely tells the story of surviving coercive control, emotional abuse, physical violence, gaslighting, manipulation, and victim blaming. For years, she was made to believe she was the problem. She questioned her own reality, lived in fear, and watched the impact of abuse affect both herself and her children. This deeply moving letter explores the lasting effects of domestic violence, the courage it takes to leave an abusive relationship, and the ongoing journey of healing, recovery, and rebuilding a life free from fear. By sharing her lived experience, the writer hopes to raise awareness of the realities of domestic abuse, highlight how victims can sometimes be wrongly portrayed as the abuser, and remind others that they are not alone.
