episode You Don't Need to Find Yourself Again After Motherhood cover

Beskrivelse

Have you ever been asked, "What do you do for fun?" and realized you don't really know the answer anymore? Motherhood has a way of slowly shifting our identity. Not all at once, but little by little. We become the default parent, the scheduler, the snack maker, the chauffeur, the one holding everything together. And somewhere along the way, it's easy to lose touch with the woman underneath all the roles. In this episode, I'm sharing the realization that changed everything for me: I wasn't meant to find myself again after motherhood. I was meant to create a new version of myself. We'll talk about why so many moms feel lost, why weight loss is often about so much more than the scale, how I started exploring new hobbies and interests, and why giving yourself permission to be a beginner might be one of the most powerful things you can do. If you've ever felt like you've disappeared into motherhood, this episode is for you.  In this episode we'll talk about: ✨ The subtle ways moms lose touch with themselves ✨ Why "finding yourself again" is the wrong goal ✨ How weight loss became about more than just weight loss for me ✨ Why I started trying a new hobby every month ✨ The importance of being bad at something ✨ How to reconnect with yourself without abandoning your family ✨ One challenge to help you start creating the next version of you Because the goal was never to go back to who you were before kids. The goal is to build a version of yourself that honors the woman you've become. One that includes motherhood. Not one that's limited by it.

Behind the Scenes: Family Changes, Summer Goals, and What's Next

The past few weeks have been a whirlwind.  Between the end-of-school-year craziness, navigating IEP meetings, preparing for a major career change in our family, and jumping headfirst into summer activities, I've been reminded of one powerful lesson about weight loss: The moms who succeed aren't the ones with perfect routines. They're the ones who learn how to stay flexible. In this episode, I'm sharing some personal life updates, what the past few weeks have looked like behind the scenes, and the mindset shift that has helped me continue making progress on my weight loss goals even during one of the busiest seasons of the year. We'll talk about: • Why your habits need to be fluid, not rigid • How to keep moving forward when life doesn't go according to plan • The "weight loss pyramid" approach I use during busy seasons • What it means to have your weight loss running on autopilot • An exciting sneak peek at a brand-new program I'm creating for moms If you've ever felt like you have to choose between enjoying your life and reaching your weight loss goals, this episode is for you. Because sustainable weight loss doesn't happen outside of motherhood...it happens within it. Follow Kelsey on Socials: @sassybrunettefitness [https://www.instagram.com/sassybrunettefitness/]

episode The Default Parent Weight Loss Struggle No One Talks About cover

The Default Parent Weight Loss Struggle No One Talks About

Motherhood can make you tired in a way sleep doesn’t fix. In this episode, I’m talking about the mental load of being the default parent — the constant planning, remembering, organizing, anticipating, and carrying everyone else’s needs all day long… and how that invisible exhaustion impacts weight loss more than most people realize. Because the truth is weight loss gets a whole lot harder when your brain is already overloaded before food and fitness even enter the picture. I’m sharing the biggest mindset shifts that helped me finally made weight loss feel sustainable in real mom life: * simplifying meals instead of overcomplicating food * reducing decision fatigue * creating repeatable routines * letting go of “perfect conditions” * and building habits that actually survive hard weeks If you’ve ever felt like you’re failing because you can’t stay consistent during the chaos of motherhood… this episode is for you. episode The System That Keeps You on Track (Even When Life Isn’t) cover

The System That Keeps You on Track (Even When Life Isn’t)

Most moms think they’re inconsistent. They start strong, feel motivated, and genuinely try to stay on track — only to feel like they “fall off” as the day unfolds. But what if that’s not actually inconsistency? In this episode, we break down a different truth: you can do things right. You do have structure in the morning. You do make solid choices. The problem is that your plan only works when life is calm enough to support it. And your life isn’t calm. We explore why traditional ideas of consistency don’t hold up for busy moms and introduce a more realistic, sustainable approach: containment. Instead of trying to manage your entire day perfectly, you’ll learn how to build a system that holds when life gets messy. You’ll walk away understanding: * Why you don’t actually have a consistency problem * What “containment” really means in daily life * And how to use my 3 anchor system to stop the daily unraveling Because consistency isn’t about being perfect all day. It’s about making sure no single chaotic moment can take everything down with it. If you’re tired of restarting every week, this episode will reframe everything. Breaking the Rules: How Skipping Workouts, Eating What You're Craving, and Convenience Foods Actually Help You Lose Weight

What if everything you’ve been told about weight loss is backwards? In this episode, I’m breaking some of the “cardinal rules” of weight loss — on purpose. I skip workouts when life gets busy, I eat something I crave every single day, and I regularly rely on convenience foods… and I still get results. So what’s going on? We dive into why traditional advice like “never miss a workout,” “avoid trigger foods,” and “cook everything from scratch” sounds good in theory — but often leads to burnout, all-or-nothing thinking, and falling off track in real life. I’ll walk you through the strategy behind three unconventional habits that actually make weight loss more sustainable: *  Why skipping workouts can improve long-term consistency  *  How eating your cravings daily helps you avoid binge-restrict cycles  *  Why convenience meals can be the key to staying on track (not falling off)  This episode isn’t about doing things perfectly — it’s about doing what actually works for this life... YOUR life as a busy mom of little kids. If you’ve ever felt like you’re either “on track” or completely off the rails, this conversation will help you build a more flexible, realistic approach that you can stick with for good.
