The Nest Effect
In this episode of The Nest Effect, Ruby shares her journey as a rising young golfer, from stepping away from traditional schooling to create more time for training, to representing Queensland in the Junior Interstate Team and experiencing the pressure of competing for a tournament victory. She speaks openly about the mental side of golf, overcoming personal challenges and learning to remain positive when things do not go to plan. Ruby also discusses the importance of her long-time coach, the support she receives from family and community, and the value of training alongside other athletes who share the same goals. Alongside completing Year 12, working and travelling from the Sunshine Coast for high-performance training, Ruby also helps coach a group of young girls—giving them the supportive environment she would have loved when she first started playing. With aspirations to join the high-performance team and eventually compete on an international tour, Ruby’s story is a powerful reminder that success is built through persistence, experience and a willingness to keep learning. 🌱 The WattleNest is a community that connects business and sport to build stronger, healthier, and more inclusive communities.
