Beskrivelse

Episode 834 of the Pennsylvania Rock Show welcomes the return of Pittsburgh-area hard rock band Dragline [https://www.facebook.com/DraglinePA] for a special look back and look forward. Host Bill revisits Episode 409 [https://www.buildthescene.com/pure-rock-fury-dragline-pars409/], originally recorded in February 2018, when he took the Pennsylvania Rock Show on the road to hang out with the band at their rehearsal space. What followed was one of the most entertaining and unpredictable interviews in the show’s history. Back in 2018, Bill sat down with Jimmy, Jay, and Mike to discuss everything from family life and memorable concerts to the formation of Dragline from the ashes of the Midnight Plowboys. The conversation wandered through stories of life as working musicians, favorite bands, songwriting influences, unforgettable gigs, and the creative process behind their original song “Rock and Roll Machine [https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=nBU7ddHy3ec&si=-Y-m6NWthwE5dNJu].” The band shared stories from the Pennsylvania rock scene, including an unforgettable show in Altoona with Filthy Lowdown that led to some legendary tales involving the Sidebar. They also built their own dream unsigned-band supergroups from musicians they had played alongside throughout the years. The result was a fun, authentic snapshot of a hardworking independent rock band doing what they love. Fast forward to today, and Bill returns to the Dragline rehearsal space armed with a much-improved mobile podcast setup and plenty of new ground to cover. After more than 15 years together on and off, Dragline has reached a major milestone with the release of their debut full-length album, “American Dream [https://music.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_lBRvVGf8d0Dnsj3nbrCv38yVvf_2Eh8b8],” released on June 4, 2026. The conversation explores the band’s journey from local rock scene veterans to recording artists with a full album finally available for fans. Bill and the band discuss the making of American Dream, the lessons learned over years of playing clubs, festivals, biker events, and rock venues throughout Pennsylvania, and what it means to finally have a complete album representing the band’s sound. The episode also covers another major accomplishment: Dragline’s recent signing with Get Hip Records. Listeners will hear firsthand about the band’s future plans, the excitement surrounding the new record, and how the members have stayed dedicated to rock and roll through lineup changes, life changes, and the ever-changing music industry. If you’re a fan of Pittsburgh rock bands, Pennsylvania music, independent artists, hard rock, classic rock influences, local music history, and authentic musician interviews, Episode 834 is essential listening. The Pennsylvania Rock Show continues its mission of spotlighting the bands, artists, and stories that make the Pennsylvania music scene one of the most vibrant independent music communities in the country.
