The Come to Me Challenge: Day 1 — Why We Are Weary

Episode Description Welcome to the first day of our 7-day journey, Come to Me: A 7-Day Invitation to Sabbath Rest. This week, we slow down together. We pause. We listen. And we begin learning what it actually means to live from a place of rest—not just long for it. In this episode, we explore weariness—why it happens, how it shows up in body, soul, and spirit, and how God meets us in the midst of it. Like Elijah in 1 Kings 19, even when we’ve been faithful and victorious, exhaustion can weigh us down. But God doesn’t scold us for our weariness; He meets us with care, rest, and restoration. My prayer is that by the end of this episode, you feel gently reminded that your rest matters, your heart is known, and Jesus invites you into His yoke—easy, light, and life-giving. Scripture Focus Matthew 11:28–30 — Jesus’ invitation to the weary “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” 1 Kings 19:4–8 — Elijah’s exhaustion and God’s care These passages remind us that rest begins with coming to Jesus, not with doing more. God meets us first in our weariness. In This Episode, You’ll Experience * A slow, reflective opening to notice your weariness and reset your heart * Scripture reading that reminds us God meets us where we are * Teaching on how God responds to exhaustion with care and restoration * Storytelling from Elijah’s journey in 1 Kings 19 * Guided reflection questions to help you respond personally * A short action step to pause and invite God’s presence into your weariness Reflection Questions Take a moment to sit with these questions—during the episode or afterward: * Where do I feel weary—in body, soul, or spirit? * What burdens am I carrying that Jesus never asked me to carry alone? * How might pausing and noticing my weariness change the way I come to Him today? Today’s Takeaway Jesus meets our weariness with care, not correction. Coming to Him—even in small, intentional pauses—is the first step toward rest. You are fully known, fully loved, and fully enough. Short Action Choose one intentional act of stopping today: * Sit quietly with Jesus for 15 minutes * Release a burden in prayer * Say aloud: “Jesus, I am weary, and I am coming to You.” Next Steps * Subscribe to the podcast so you don’t miss the next episode in this series * Leave a review to help other women find the show * Visit the show notes or WateredBytheWord.com [https://www.wateredbytheword.com/] for reflection prompts, resources, and community Closing Encouragement You were made for more than carrying it all on your own. Today, you’ve taken the first step toward Sabbath rest by noticing your weariness and bringing it to Jesus. Let’s wake up, pause, and walk in His care—together. A 7-Day Return from Drift – Day 7: Abide and Bear Fruit

On Day 7 of Wake Up, My Daughters: A 7-Day Return from Drift, we step into abiding. Using John 15:5–7, we explore how staying connected to Jesus—the true vine—is the key to bearing lasting spiritual fruit. Today isn’t about striving or doing more; it’s about remaining, listening, and letting God’s life flow through us. What You’ll Hear in This Episode: * Anchor Scripture reading from John 15:5–7 * Teaching on abiding as the antidote to spiritual drift * A Scripture song to help God’s Word settle into your heart * Guided prayer and reflection for carrying abiding into daily life * Invitation to revisit the journey with a companion guide Scripture Focus: “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers…If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” — John 15:5–7 Reflection Prompt: Take a moment to ask yourself: * Where in my day am I relying on my own strength instead of remaining in Christ? * How can I practice abiding in ordinary tasks, conversations, and responsibilities today? Action Step: Today, choose one way to remain connected to Jesus: * Pause and listen to His Word through the scripture song * Pray quietly, inviting Him to guide your thoughts, actions, and decisions * Let one verse of Scripture guide your choices or responses throughout the day Resources & Community: Continue your journey with the Wake Up, My Daughters: Companion Guide, which includes all seven days, Scripture passages, reflection questions, and action steps: https://wateredbytheword.com/return  Engage with a supportive community of women at Watered By the Word, where encouragement and tools help you walk awake and remain in Christ. episode A 7-Day Return from Drift – Day 6: Being Transformed, Not Conformed cover

A 7-Day Return from Drift – Day 6: Being Transformed, Not Conformed

On Day 6 of Wake Up, My Daughters: A 7-Day Return from Drift, we focus on transformation. Using Romans 12:2, we explore how drift quietly shapes our thoughts, desires, and decisions—and how God calls us to intentionally renew our minds. Transformation is not passive; it requires awareness, openness, and small, deliberate steps to allow God to shape our thinking and daily choices. What You’ll Hear in This Episode: * Anchor Scripture reading from Romans 12:2 * How conformity to the world quietly leads to spiritual drift * Practical ways to invite God’s renewal into your mind, heart, and daily responses * Guided reflection to notice where you may be conforming instead of being transformed * Short, intentional action steps to renew your mind today Scripture Focus: “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” — Romans 12:2 Reflection Prompt: Take a moment to ask yourself: * In what areas of my life am I still conforming to the world instead of allowing God to transform my heart and mind? * Where can I invite Him to renew my thoughts, choices, or reactions today? Action Step: Today, choose one small, intentional moment to interrupt drift and invite renewal: * Replace one anxious or negative thought with a Scripture truth * Turn off background noise—music, news, social media—and sit quietly with God for five minutes * Write down one way your thinking needs to realign with God’s truth and pray over it Resources & Community: Join other women on this journey at Watered By the Word, where reflection prompts, practical tips, and encouragement are available: WateredBytheWord.com [https://www.wateredbytheword.com/] Next Episode: Tomorrow, we’ll step into Day 7 – Living Abiding Sabbath, exploring how to live fully awake in Christ and let rest and renewal flow naturally from our connection with Him.
