Beskrivelse

I've been watching my kids at sports days and it has made me think about the kinds of beliefs we can develop about ourselves. "I am no good at running / maths / painting / dancing..." Beliefs that are black-and-white, with the assumption that things are never going to change. In this episode I talk (slowly - I was mega-hot) about how this can be limiting, and how we can look at things in a more helpful, flexible way. Thank you for listening. episode Red Flags cover

Red Flags

Red flags. This is not an easy topic as I think part of the point of red flags is that they are only usually obvious in hindsight. I think we would all like to think that we wouldn't ever be taken in, but the truth is that anybody can be taken in by someone who turns out to be manipulative or dishonest. However, there are some things that are worth thinking about when it comes to paying attention to signs that things might not be quite right. This is not an easy topic and I know can be a sensitive one, so I hope I have done it some justice here. The request for this topic came in from a listener. If you wanted to make a suggestion or ask a question, then drop me a message at pod@cbtted.co.uk. I can't promise you that I will be able to answer it, but I can promise I will read it and do my best if I can. As always, below are the links for listening or watching in whatever way suits you best. All the ways of dealing with anxious thoughts

I asked for a few suggestions for podcast topics over on Instagram and overwhelmingly the strongest theme was "dealing with anxious thoughts" so here's my crack at summarising all of the ways I know of to do just that. Which ones work best for you? Thank you for listening.
