Welcome to my debut podcast, "To Be Real!" Today, I discuss the dynamics of Black culture and how white Western media has consistently misrepresented Black American identities in mainstream media. The cultural misappropriation and misrepresentation affect the perception we have of ourselves as Black individuals and our contributions to our own culture. I touch on art as reclamation and revigoration from artists like Beyoncé and literary works from Toni Morrison, and I also present overarching questions that keep overthinkers like me and you up at night!
