When four-year-old Bayden was diagnosed with Burkitt's lymphoma, Jimmy and Kate's world changed overnight. Running a successful building business and raising three children in Mackay, Queensland, they suddenly found themselves navigating emergency flights, cancer treatment, family separation and unimaginable uncertainty. Although Bayden survived, the experience left lasting impacts on every aspect of their lives. Faced with emotional exhaustion, financial pressure and a growing sense that life needed to be different, they made a bold decision. They sold their home, packed up their lives, and set off around Australia in a caravan with their children. In this heartfelt episode, Jimmy and Kate share their family's cancer journey, the challenges of rebuilding after trauma, homeschooling on the road, creating income online, and why they chose family, flexibility and freedom over the traditional path they once followed.
