It is only the second time that Cox was at Truist Park since his stroke in 2019. Eric tells the listeners about the time that the former skipper truly had his back. (12:00) The Braves beat Pittsburgh on Friday night 6-1 to open the weekend series. All but four of the outs were recorded by pitchers that are in their forties as Charlie Morton handed the ball off to Jesse Chavez. (17:00) Atlanta fell 4-2 on Sunday to miss an opportunity to sweep. Spencer Schwellenbach allowed four runs in only five innings of work, but did notch seven strikeouts. (25:00) The season has passed the halfway point and thus far Orlando Arcia is struggling mightily at the plate. Arcia last season had an OPS of .741 and in 2024 it is far lower at .582. (04:00) Michael Harris II injured his hamstring in Friday night's 7-3 win and has placed on the IL. Harris was diagnosed with a Grade 2 hamstring strain and David notes the severity of the injury. Jared Kelenic moved over to replace Harris in CF and also hit leadoff on Saturday and Sunday. (16:00) The Braves currently do not have solidified fifth starter. Hurston Waldrep struggled in his second career start on Sunday as he gave up six runs against Tampa Bay in less than four innings of work. Following the outing, Waldrep was optioned to AAA-Gwinett. This leads to an extended discussion on the team's starting rotation. (32:00) Austin Riley's homer on Sunday carried additional emotional weight as one of his mentors and former Braves hitting instructor Mike Brumley tragically passed away in a car accident overnight at sixty-one years old.
