Getting Older And Wiser

In a society that is often obsessed with youth, getting older can sometimes feel like a process of losing rather than gaining. We notice the physical changes—the graying hair, the slower pace, the aches where there used to be agility. It is easy to focus on what time has taken away, but the Bible offers a radically different perspective on aging. Scripture does not view old age as a decline into irrelevance, but as an ascent into greater understanding. Growing older is not just about the passing of years; it is about the accumulation of wisdom, a treasure that can only be gathered through the seasons of a life walked with God.

Does The Weather Control Your Attitude?

It is amazing how much a gray, rainy day can affect our outlook. A stretch of gloomy weather can make us feel sluggish, unmotivated, and even a little sad. On the other hand, a bright, sunny morning can instantly lift our spirits, filling us with energy and optimism. It is a simple illustration of a larger truth: we often allow our external circumstances to dictate our internal disposition. While it is natural to be influenced by our surroundings, as followers of Christ, we are called to anchor our joy in something far more stable than the weather forecast.

When It's Time To Change

Change is one of the few constants in life, yet it is often the very thing we resist the most. Whether it is a shift in our careers, a change in our family dynamics, or a move to a new location, transition can feel unsettling. We find comfort in the familiar, even if the familiar is no longer where we are meant to be. However, recognizing when it is time to change is a vital part of spiritual maturity. God often uses seasons of transition to move us from where we are to where He needs us to be for the next chapter of our purpose.

Growing Children In Their Faith

One of the greatest callings we have is to nurture the faith of the next generation. Guiding a child’s spiritual journey is a precious opportunity, a sacred trust given to parents, grandparents, teachers, and mentors. It is the work of planting seeds of truth in young hearts and prayerfully watching them grow. This is not about forcing a rigid set of rules, but about gently and consistently pointing them toward the source of all love and life, Jesus Christ.

Visiting The Sick

When someone we know is facing illness, it can be difficult to know what to do or say. We may feel inadequate, fearing we will be a bother or that we will not have the right words of comfort. Yet, Jesus gives us a clear and powerful picture of how we should respond to those who are suffering. In His description of the final judgment, He places visiting the sick right alongside feeding the hungry and clothing the naked as a direct service to Him. When we care for the sick, we are not just performing a kind act; we are ministering to Christ Himself.
