Episode 353: Ron Barrett (Houston, TX) [Country]

Episode 353 features Ron Barrett, a country artist from Houston, TX. He is currently working with Heart Song Records and recently released his 14-track album "Whiskey Memories" in Nashville, TN. I featured his song "What I'm Missing" on the episode. If you like it, you can stream it wherever you listen to music. In the conversation, we talked about songwriting, bad management, mental health, promoting music, and playing shows. Besides owning a business, Ron also has a family, and he balances his music with both. Thanks for listening and supporting local music!     Please follow, rate, or review the podcast wherever you are streaming if you’d like to help us out.  -- Part-Time Rockstar Productions is available in the DMV for music videos and live filming.

Episode 352: Northvale (Pop Punk) [NJ]

Episode 352 features the New Jersey pop-punk/emo quartet Northvale. In the episode, I spoke with vocalist Keith Carroll. The guys are veterans of the scene, and this current project has been their biggest success so far. I featured their songs "Runaway" and "Better When I Can," which you can stream wherever you listen to music. I sat down with Keith to talk about what it's like promoting music in 2025, the pros and cons of using tracks instead of a live bassist, and a bunch of other fun behind-the-scenes stuff. Huge thanks to Keith and Northvale for coming on, and huge thanks to all of you for listening and supporting independent artists! Also, Merry Christmas and shit!     Please follow, rate, or review the podcast wherever you are streaming if you’d like to help us out.  -- Part-Time Rockstar Productions is available in the DMV for music videos and live filming.

Episode 351: DelCobras (Philly) [Pop Alt Rock]

On episode 351 we’re joined by my friend Jim Lorino, the artist formerly known as Scoopski, from Philadelphia. I’ve known Jim since the early days of the podcast, and it’s great to have him back. This time, he’s here with his new band, DelCobras, a three-headed Power Pop monster that’s slithering onto the Philly rock scene in 2025, the Year of the Snake apparently. DelCobras features Jim “Scoops” Lorino, Marc Schuster, and Nick Cervini — all three of whom sat down for this conversation. The band grew out of the live lineup of Scoops, and after an incredible year of shows, the trio decided to shed their old skin, and strike with a tighter, more aggressive sound. On the episode I featured their fresh take on the holiday classic “Last Christmas,” plus the non-seasonal rocker “Someday Soon” — both available wherever you stream music. In the episode, we dive into how DelCobras came together, talk all things Philly, and hear about their recent gig at a Christmas parade. It was a fun chat with plenty of local music philly brotherly love. Big thanks to Jim, Marc, and Nick for coming on, and huge thanks to all of you for listening and supporting independent artists. Change can be scary… but don’t fear the cobra. Enjoy the episode!   Please follow, rate, or review the podcast wherever you are streaming if you’d like to help us out.  -- Part-Time Rockstar Productions is available in the DMV for music videos and live filming.

EPISODE 350! feat. RAY WROTEN (Bond & Bently) [Baltimore, MD]

Episode 350 features Ray Wroten of the Baltimore-area band Bond & Bentley. Ray is an OG of the show, and it’s always fun to have him back on. He is always funny, loves to talk shit, and is just a good, genuine dude in the scene. Bond & Bentley have a show coming up with Old Eastern at the Ottobar on 12/27. The band also re-released some of their back catalog to better represent the songs and how they sound in their current form. The release is called Remnants, and I featured the track “Smokin’ Fatteez.” If you like it, you can stream it or buy the vinyl. I should note you can also find Ray hosting trivia on certain nights, such as at this podcast's favorite haunt, Fish Head Cantina. Check out Ray's socials or the band's socials for all updates and info. Also, big gratitude and thanks to everyone for supporting this podcast as it’s grown and all the loyal listeners for checking in every week. We will always continue to try to support local artists wherever they may be.               Please follow, rate, or review the podcast wherever you are streaming if you’d like to help us out.  -- Part-Time Rockstar Productions is available in the DMV for music videos and live filming.

Episode 349: Love Nut (90s rock) [Baltimore, MD]

Episode 349 features Love Nut, the mid-90s Baltimore indie pop band that almost broke big but got lost in the major-label shuffle. Formed in the gritty heart of Charm City by dual-threat axe-man/vocalist Andy Bopp, guitarist/vocalist Max Mueller, bassist Dave Vespoint, and drummer Tom Sabia, Love Nut blended raw emotion with razor-sharp melodies on their 1996 debut Bastards of Melancholy. Snapped up by Interscope Records after a local indie release, the album earned rave reviews for its melancholic bite but sadly fizzled commercially. Fast-forward to now: After nearly three decades, Love Nut is coming back for a triumphant 30th anniversary reunion show this Friday, December 5th, at The Recher Theater in Towson, MD, just a stone's throw from downtown Baltimore. Special guests Splitsville join the fray for what promises to be a nostalgia-soaked explosion of guitars, harmonies, and that unmistakable Charm City swagger. In the episode I spoke with Dave and we talked about the band’s origin story, the record industry then vs now, and the big show this weekend! Check out the Recher Theater website for tickets.
