Playing Yourself: The Rhetoric of Games
In this week’s episode, we have tried to touch on an unconventional game structure. We will be talking about the college admissions process and how this is a big game. Since, it is such a big decision of everyone’s lives, everyone wants to cross as many stages as possible: Resume, Essays, Grades, Standardised Tests etc. In doing so, people forget the true importance of education-learning, We end up focusing on the quantitative aspects of education like grades and GPA rather than qualitative aspects like: learning, team-work, and creativity. We will go deeper into this topic in our podcast and unveil many more aspects of the admissions process which contradicts the values the admissions committee tries to promote.
